I Heard My Husband’s Illegitimate Son’s Thoughts Chapter 05
I showed the paternity test report to everyone present. They all widened their eyes.
Raymond stammered, “Honey, this is all a misunderstanding. The hospital must have messed up the report.
I pulled two other paternity test reports out of my bag.
“Raymond, we’ve been married for five years. You’ve always been so caring. You’ve always doted on me. Before. yesterday, I never once doubted you. I never even thought you would cheat on me.
“But the facts are right here in front of us. You say one report is a mistake. But what about these three reports from three different hospitals? Do you still have the nerve to say they’re fake?”
Raymond could not come up with any more excuses. He simply lowered his head.
Seeing him like this, everyone instantly understood.
“I finally get it now. That kid is Raymond’s illegitimate child. He must have purposely left the baby by the entrance of the neighborhood.
“By having his own wife pick up his illegitimate child, he gets to walk away clean. Then, under the excuse of adoption, he can give the baby a legal identity without anyone asking questions.
“He’s a full-on, scheming piece of trash.”
Someone asked doubtfully, “Is he out of his mind? He has a young, gorgeous wife at home, and he cheats with some old, fat lady instead?”
Another person analyzed the situation and said, “If you ask me, that fat lady is definitely not the kid’s real mother. The other woman has to be someone else.”
Raymond immediately denied it.
“No, she’s the mother. I was out drinking with clients and had way too much. She was a waitress who was tasked with cleaning up the private room. I accidentally mistook her for you, and that’s how I ended up sleeping with her.
“When I woke up, I felt terrible about it. So, I gave her some cash and sent her away. But I never expected that nine months later, she’d show up with a baby and come looking for me.
“This woman is absolutely awful. She had the baby just to shake me down for money. The baby is innocent.”
Raymond looked at me and pleaded, “Honey, I didn’t have any other choice, so I came up with this plan. Please forgive me, just this once.”
The woman also went along with him.
“That’s right. As long as you pay me a million dollars, the baby is yours. I promise I’ll never bother you again.”
I looked at the two of them and smiled coldly.
“Raymond, do you really think I’m going to believe your absurd lie?”
He took my hand and placed it against his chest.
“Honey, I swear I’m not lying to you. We’ve been married for five years. Don’t you know in your heart how I feel based on how I’ve treated you all this time?”
I yanked my hand away, pulled out a wet wipe, and disgustedly wiped my palm.
Stop pretending. Do you still remember how you said you already got a vasectomy because you didn’t want me to have to take the risks of childbirth?”
A flash of annoyance crossed Raymond’s face. Clearly, in the lie he had concocted under pressure earlier, he had forgotten about that.
One lie piled on top of another lie. Even he could not keep track of them all.
