I Loved the Heir in Disguise Chapter 09

I Loved the Heir in Disguise Chapter 09

I thought I would never see Jace again in this life.

But on the streets of Newport, I still heard that

voice that could shake my soul.

Mia.”

Do you really not want me anymore?”

I instinctively squeezed Adrian’s hand tightly and

looked up at him.

Adrian gently patted the back of my hand, leaned

close to my ear, and whispered.

Don’t be afraid.”

I’m here, I won’t let him bully you again.”

Before I could react, Jace had already rushed in

front of me.

His eyes were bloodshot, he had lost a whole

circle of weight.

His expensive suit hung loosely on him, but there

was an indescribable mess about him.

His gaze stared firmly at the hands Adrian and I

were holding tightly.

Mia, who is he?”

Jace’s voice was hoarse, his eyes full of hurt.

I suddenly felt a little funny.

Wasn’t he the one who had played me for three

years and then turned around to marry Vivienne?

Why was he acting like I was the one who had let

him down?

Adrian stepped in front of me, taking a full

protective stance.

This scene completely enraged Jace.

He suddenly reached out, grabbed my wrist fiercely, and shouted sharply.

MIA!”

I’m asking you.”

I had always been softtempered and afraid of

conflicts.

When I was dating Jace, he had never even

spoken a harsh word to me.

Now seeing him lose control and almost roar, I

was so scared my fingertips went cold, and I

could barely lift my head.

Adrian stroked my hair comfortingly.

When he looked at Jace again, his eyes had

completely turned cold.

He pried Jace’s fingers off one by one, his voice deep and cold.

I am Mia’s fiancé.”

And I have to thank Mr. Kingsley for not choosing

her.”

Otherwise, I would never have gotten the chance to marry Mia.”

Jace’s gaze froze for a moment.

Then he slowly looked at the engagement rings on

our ring fingers.

In that instant, he flinched as if burned and quickly

looked away.

I also noticed that he still wore the faded, rusted

plain ring on his own ring finger.

A strange bitterness welled up in my heart.

But I did not want to say anything.

Jace had lied to me for three years.

At least when we separated, I gave him enough dignity.

I did not cry or make a scene, nor did I go to his wedding to expose him.

I just wished him a happy wedding.

Adrian frowned unhappily and led me past Jace.

Mia, let’s go home.”

I nodded a little embarrassedly.

As I walked past Jace, I paused for a moment and

spoke softly.

If you have time, you’re welcome to come to my

wedding.”

Jace’s back stiffened instantly.

The next second, he frantically grabbed my hand.

His gaze was pleading, his posture so humble he was barely recognizable as the proud Kingsley

heir.

Mia, please don’t marry him.”

I’ve already saved up the wedding savings fund.”

I can explain everything about those things.”

I don’t love Vivienne.”

We were only a family strategic marriage.”

It wasn’t until the wedding day that I suddenly

realized.”

I only want you to be my bride.”

As he spoke, he frantically pulled out the plain ring

I had discarded from his pocket.

That cheap ring lay in his palm, the edges already

a little dull.

Mia, come back with me.”

Let’s get married.”

I won’t make you wait anymore.”

The air pressure around Adrian dropped suddenly.

His fists clenched tightly, the veins on the back of

his hands faintly visible.

I took the initiative to lean close to him and gave

him a reassuring look.

Then I looked back at Jace again.

A bitter smile unconsciously spread across the

corners of my mouth.

Jace.”

I’m allergic to nickel.”

Haven’t you noticed?”

I’ve had rashes all over my body every day for the

past three years.”

I’m allergic to this ring.”

After saying that, I raised my hand and showed him the purple diamond ring on my finger.

The gem refracted soft, clean light in the sun.

But Adrian remembers.”

He knows what I’m allergic to, and he knows what

I like.”

So the ring he gave me is made of the best

materials.”

Jace’s shoulders slumped little by little.

His mouth opened slightly, but he could not say a

word.

He could have given me all these things too.

He could have remembered too.

But he did not.

He had let me suffer so many grievances I never

deserved.

After getting in the car, Adrian fastened my

seatbelt for me.

He did not ask if I was still sad, he just held my

hand quietly.

The car slowly drove away.

In the rearview mirror, Jace’s figure gradually

shrank into a small black dot.

Finally, it completely faded from my sight.
