The Impostor’s Time Is Over Chapter 07
“Brilliant. Just brilliant,” Dad said, the anger in his eyes intensifying despite the smile on his face. He ground his teeth so hard that the sound could actually be heard.
“Family, you say? I never thought that I’d actually make someone who dared to betray the family the temporary head of the household!”
Dad then turned to me, asking for my opinion.
“Rina, since Justin has been so disrespectful toward you, how should we deal with him? I’ll do whatever you want, whether it’s killing him or chopping his limbs off.
“I don’t care for people like him as my nephew, even if there were a hundred of them.”
Hearing this, Justin let out a fearful wail and started groveling at my feet.
“Rina, please give me another chance. Rina! I won’t do such a thing ever again! I won’t do it again!”
Then, he started smacking himself in the face and calling himself names. “I’m such a terrible person. I’m worse than an animal. I shouldn’t have helped an outsider bully my own cousin!
“I’m trash! I deserve to die! I don’t deserve to live! Rina, please have mercy on me!”
Justin’s cries made me feel frustrated and a little hesitant.
Initially, I had wanted to exact my revenge on him in full. However, his father, my Uncle Roger, had always treated me very well.
Justin’s mother, my Aunt Fiona, didn’t have a daughter of her own, so she’d always treated me as if I were her
own.
Every time they came over to visit us, Uncle Roger and Aunt Fiona often brought me plenty of snacks and toys. In short, I respected them a lot.
Also, from reading the lines between Dad’s words, I could tell that he didn’t have the heart to kill Justin. After all, Justin was still his nephew. If Dad really killed him, he would have a hard time explaining things to Uncle Roger. Justin’s wrongdoings didn’t necessarily warrant death, after all.
Thus, I decided to settle for the middle ground. I said, “Dad, for Uncle Roger’s sake, let’s just break one of his arms and forbid him from setting foot in our house ever again. What do you think?”
Justin immediately looked at Dad with a hopeful expression, hoping that Dad would agree to my proposition.
Mom also chimed in, saying, “If he were someone else, he’d have been dead by now. But Justin is still related to us by blood. He is, after all, Roger and Fiona’s only son.
“If we really killed him, Roger and Fiona would be completely heartbroken.”
Dad glared at Justin once more. He really hated Justin at that point, but he still had to be considerate of Uncle Roger and Aunt Fiona,
In the end, Dad sighed loudly and nodded reluctantly.
“Fine. I’ll just break one of his arms.”
Justin immediately got back down on the floor to thank Dad. Then, one of the bodyguards brought him out of the hall.
Dad then sent out a decree in his loud, booming voice.
“Spread the word and warn everyone in Jadington that anyone who dares to engage in business with Justin Bloomberg will be making me, Ralph Bloomberg, their mortal enemy!”
With that, nobody would ever dare to do business with Justin again from today onward.
Finally, Mom, Dad, and I looked down at Selena at the same time.
