My Best Friend Stole an Heir, So I Cleared House as the Lawful Wife Chapter 07

This was Don Vito’s legal property and massive trust. It was the Moretti family’s legitimate power base. After everything that had happened, there was no reason to stop at the final step. The stares around me grew sharper. Everyone was waiting for one result. I stepped forward and looked at Dr. Miles.

“Run the examination first.”

Dr. Miles nodded at once.

“For your safety, we should go to the hospital for a complete examination.”

I nodded. Our cars left the estate in a long black line and headed to the private hospital the Moretti family used. Outside the testing room, Damian looked deeply worried. Nicholas and Donna Serena practically pressed themselves against the glass, greedy enough to wish they could see straight through the wall. Camilla paced the hallway, muttering under her breath. Other Moretti relatives arrived one after another. They all wanted the same thing. Boy or girl? Minute by minute, the air in the hallway tightened. Finally, Dr. Miles opened the testing room door. His expression was serious. Nicholas and Donna Serena rushed forward and snatched the report from his hand. Then cheers erupted through the hallway. The children I was carrying qualified under the will. Children. Two of them. Twins. A boy and a girl.

Once the result was out, every face in that hallway started calculating. The consigliere smiled and handed me the agreement. I looked up at Damian. He held my hand and gave a slight nod. My heart settled. I signed without hesitation and pressed my fingerprint beside my name. When the process ended, the consigliere let out a quiet breath of relief and shook my hand.

“Congratulations, Donna Olivia. If nothing unexpected happens, the moment the two children are born, the agreement will formally take effect.”

I threw myself into Damian’s arms. He caught me steadily. Nicholas, Donna Serena, and Camilla stepped forward too, but Damian held me and moved aside. His eyes were ice. There was no warmth in them at all.

“From now on, we keep separate households,” he said. “Olivia will not be forced to deal with you again.”

Nicholas’s eyes widened.

“What did you say?”

Damian stood still.

“I said we keep separate households. Starting today, Olivia and I keep our accounts apart from Chapter 7

yours. Your credit accounts, allowances, private drivers, and permission to live in the compound will all be reviewed by the consigliere.”

Donna Serena burst into loud sobs.

“You heartless son. I raised you. Now you’re throwing away your own mother and family rules for a woman?”

Damian’s face did not move.

“Have you ever acted like parents? For three years, Olivia managed every relationship inside the compound alone. What did you do? You never remembered her kindness. You let an outsider bully her. As long as I am here, none of you will get one step near her again.”

After that, Damian held me and left without looking back. Behind us, Donna Serena collapsed to the ground. Nicholas was so furious he nearly passed out.
