She Wanted Everyone to Remember Her Birthday, So I Let Them Remember It Forever Chapter 06

Willow shrieked and tried to lung at me, but the security guards held her back.

Mr. Valour’s face was completely dark. He turned to his assistant and ordered, “Call the police. Get the manufacturer’s technicians up here right now.”

Mr. Rollins panicked. “Mr. Valour, is it really necessary to go that far? This will completely ruin the property’s reputation!”

Before he could finish, a security guard’s voice shouted from the hallway, “Stop! You can’t go in

there!”

A man in dirty clothes, clutching a canvas sack, was desperately shoving his way through the crowd.

He yelled at the top of his lungs, “The live stream said every door in this building is unlocked! I just tried 1602 and it opened right up! What’s wrong with me staying there for a couple of days?”

The color drained instantly from Millie’s face. “1602 is my apartment!”

The neighbors in the hallway, who had just been screaming at me, completely lost their minds.

Some rushed back to their own doors, some shielded their kids, and others turned on Ophelia, yelling, “Are you out of your mind? You posted the password all over the internet, and now just about anyone can walk right in!”

Ophelia flinched, a flash of malice crossing her eyes before she cried even harder. “I didn’t know this would happen. I really just wanted to make everyone happy.”

Chad still stood in front of her like a shield. “She’s just a young girl, how could she understand any of this? Stop scaring her!”

Mr. Valour rolled his eyes and looked coldly at Mr. Rollins. “Pull up the backend logs.”

Mr. Rollins tried to make excuses. “The logs might be glitching, the system locked down just now!”

The technician who had just arrived opened his laptop, speaking with pure sarcasm. “Don’t worry,

the security logs are encrypted and saved automatically. Nothing can be altered.”

Very quickly, the first record popped up.

[System Action: Property Manager Daniel Rollins. Bulk temporary password update for Building 18. Application Note: Assisting Ophelia Hastings with handover promotional live stream. Setting

building-wide master code to her birthday.]

Mr. Valour’s sharp gaze pierced right through Mr. Rollins.

Mr. Rollins’s knees went weak, and he immediately pointed a shaking finger at Ophelia. “She begged me to do it! She said her followers love seeing how much the building adores her, and that a viral video would bring traffic to the property! I was doing it for the company!”

Ophelia shook her head through her tears, biting back instantly. “I just mentioned it casually. Mr. Rollins was the one who insisted on doing it.”

The technician pulled up the live stream playback. On the screen, Ophelia was smiling

triumphantly.

“I begged Mr. Rollins for ages before he finally agreed to change the whole building’s code to my

birthday.”

“Hurry up and take screenshots, everyone. This is going to be our exclusive romance for Building

18.”

Millie went completely feral and lunged to scratch her. “You bitch! My jewelry is gone! You’re going to pay me back!”

Ophelia shrieked and hid behind Chad. “Chad, save me!”

Chad shielded her almost by instinct.

Looking at the man who was still technically my fiancé, I felt utterly repulsed. I ripped off my engagement ring and threw it right at his face. “I’m completely done with this. The engagement is officially off.”

The ring struck Chad’s face, and his expression instantly darkened.

Willow started screaming. “Patricia, have you lost your mind? You think you can just call off the wedding whenever you want?”

“The apartment is already fully renovated. If you call off the wedding now, are you trying to steal our property?”

I looked at her. “Your property?”

Willow straightened her back. “This was supposed to be your apartment with Chad anyway, and they decorated it exactly the way we liked.”

“You caused a massive scene today and even hit Chad. If you want a breakup, fine. Give us half the apartment and pay us back for the renovation costs.”

Chad stood there, his eyes dark and menacing.
