Eight Years As His Secret Lover, I Married The Top Mafia Don Next Saturday Chapter 06

I went into the Colombo group’s office on Wednesday morning. I was eating lunch during my break when my

phone began to vibrate wildly.

It was a call from Alice.

“Sabrina, where are you right now?” Her voice was frantic and angry. “I just got off a flight. What on earth has

Slytherin done?”

She’d known about my secret relationship with Slytherin from the very beginning, and she was my only true

supporter all those years.

She’d scolded Slytherin more than once for refusing to give me a proper title after all I’d given him.

I quickly told her everything that had happened between Slytherin, Bella and me.

Silence stretched on for half a minute on the other end of the line.

When Alice spoke again, her tone was ice cold.

“So he applied for a marriage license with a new Associate over a stupid bet, and even made you give up

your apartment for her?”

I heard her take a deep breath.

“Stay right there. I’m coming to find you now.”

Thirty minutes later, Alice rushed into the restaurant and slid into the seat across from me.

She stared at me for three full seconds before her eyes grew wet with tears.

“Sabrina, I’m so sorry.” She reached across the table and held my hands. “I apologize for everything Slytherin

did.”

I shook my head. “This isn’t your fault.”

“It is my fault! If I hadn’t introduced you two, you never would have gone through all this pain…”

“Alice.” I cut her off gently. “Even if I could go back in time, I would still have fallen for him.”

I offered a soft smile. “But I would never waste eight more years waiting for him.”

Alice’s expression eased a little as a new thought crossed her mind. “Your engagement with Lucius… is this

really serious?”

I nodded firmly.

I pulled out my phone and showed her Lucius’s latest messages.

She read through them and smiled in relief. “Good. I know you’ll be happy with him.”

“You have to let me be your maid of honor for the wedding. Promise me.”

Early the next morning, Slytherin finally showed up at my family’s estate.

I was just getting ready to leave for work when he rang the doorbell.

I opened the front door to find him standing on the steps. His expensive tailored suit was rumpled and messy, and dark circles lined his eyes. He looked like he hadn’t slept for an entire week.

“Sabrina…” His voice was rough and hoarse. “Can we talk?”

I glanced at my watch. “I have a meeting in twenty minutes. You get ten.”

He looked stunned, clearly not expecting me to speak to him with the cold politeness I reserved for business

clients.

His face stiffened, and he pulled a small jewelry box out of his suit pocket after taking a deep breath.

Inside lay a three-carat Cartier diamond ring, a classic timeless design.

I stared at the ring and felt a bitter laugh rise in my throat.

Years ago, we’d walked past a jewelry store window, and I’d lingered to admire this exact ring for a long time.

He’d tugged me away back then and said, “Don’t stare. When we get married, I’ll buy you a five-carat ring

instead.”

Eight years later, he’d finally bought the ring.

It was smaller than he’d promised.

And he only bought it because I was about to marry another man.

“Sabrina, I know I messed up. Please forgive me.”

His voice trembled with emotion. “Bella and I have already submitted our divorce papers. I’ll be fully single

soon.”

“I know you’ve loved this Cartier ring for years. I…”

“Slytherin!” I interrupted him sharply. “Did you come all this way just to say these meaningless words?”

He froze in place.

“If you’re done speaking, I need to head to my meeting.”

His patience snapped. The pleading look faded from his face, replaced by the familiar irritation I knew so

well.

“What exactly do you want from me?” He raised his voice. “I already apologized. Why do you keep pushing

this?”

“Do you really think Lucius loves you? He’s only marrying you to seize control of the Colombo family’s

resources!”

I studied his face, a face I’d looked at every day for eight years, and it felt completely strange to me now.

He would always see everyone around him as tools for power and profit, never believing anyone acted out of

genuine affection.
