Daughter vs Mother: A Love Rivalry from Hell Chapter 06
Maisie wasn’t able to move out of the way in time. She watched with wide eyes as the sulfuric acid splashed all over her chest. She collapsed to the floor with a shrill shriek.
“It hurts so much! What did you splash on me?”
When Kelvin noticed the wisps of white smoke rising from Maisie’s chest, he didn’t hesitate for even a second before he delivered a hard slap across Jillian’s face.
“Have you lost your mind, Jillian? How dare you treat your new mother with such disrespect?” he demanded.
The sulfuric acid had burned right through Maisie’s clothes. She let out a bloodcurdling scream when it dripped on her bare skin.
Jillian hurled the bottle to the floor. She covered her face with her hands and began wailing loudly.
“You’ve never laid a finger on me before this, Daddy. How could you hurt me for your mistress’ sake?”
The sounds of Jillian’s cries, Maisie’s screams, and Kelvin’s shouts as he dialed 911 filled the room.
Meanwhile, I thought that it was a shame as I remained huddled in my corner, watching the chaos unfold.
It was a shame that Jillian was too short to splash the sulfuric acid on Maisie’s face and ruin her looks.
In my past life, Jillian managed to pour it directly on the top of my head because I saw no need to keep my guard up around her.
The acid burned away the skin and flesh on my scalp as I writhed in agony, eventually exposing my skull.
I suffered an incredibly gruesome death. Perhaps that was the reason why the omnipotent being took pity on me and gave me a second chance at life.
Kelvin finally realized that the transparent liquid in the bottle was sulfuric acid after he hung up.
Maisie hastily stripped off her clothes. She pointed at the burn marks on her body as she burrowed into Kelvin’s embrace, crying and complaining about how much pain she was in.
I had to give Maisie credit where it was due. Her pitiful appearance was immensely effective, immediately stoking Kelvin’s wrath toward Jillian.
“You’re only ten years old, Jillian. Where did you get your hands on such a thing? I must have spoiled you too much. When did you become such a little demon? Did you already know that I was planning to remarry? Have you been scheming all this time to hurt your new mother?”
Jillian glared at both Kelvin and Maisie hatefully, looking as if she wanted to devour them whole.
Kelvin’s heart ached terribly as he checked Maisie’s condition. For some inexplicable reason, he decided to direct his ire at me.
I was wondering why you suddenly showed up here, Sienna. You’re the mastermind behind this entire scheme, aren’t you? I shouldn’t have believed you! I had no idea you were such a despicable person!
“You must have told Jillian beforehand and influenced her to come up with this nefarious plan. I won’t
forgive you if anything happens to Maisie.”
I scoffed, thinking that Kelvin was being utterly ridiculous.
“Do you really believe that I want to be here, Kelvin? Do you really think that I want to see Jillian? I wouldn’t even be here if she didn’t get her teacher and the police involved, asking me to take her home.
“She actually prepared that bottle of sulfuric acid for me. She thought that you didn’t return home for so many days because I seduced you. You only have yourself to blame for bringing your mistress back now
of all times. Both of you deserved what happened to you.”
I couldn’t help but feel as if I had dodged a bullet.
Truth be told, I had to thank Kelvin for being unfaithful and divorcing me. If he hadn’t been so eager to marry his mistress, I would have been the one that misfortune would have fallen upon.
Maisie let out a loud wail upon hearing my words.
Naturally, I felt extremely pleased as I watched her writhe on the ground in agony.
Knowing that he couldn’t win against me, Kelvin once again directed his fury at Jillian. I watched him criticize Jillian for the first time in my life.
“Get down on your knees and grovel for Maisie’s forgiveness,” he demanded. “I also want you to write a ten-thousand-word apology letter for her later. If you dare to act out of line again, I’ll send you to a mental hospital to undergo electroconvulsive therapy!”
Jillian felt like her heart had shattered into a million pieces. She shoved Kelvin aside and lunged at me, baring her teeth.
She punched and kicked at me as she screamed, “It’s all your fault, Sienna! It’s your fault for being so unattractive that you couldn’t even keep your husband by your side! If Daddy didn’t grow tired of you, he wouldn’t have looked for a new mother for me! Everything is your fault!”
