My So-Called Best Friend Sold My Number Chapter 05

Chapter 5 Clearing My Name

The photo popped up.

A naked woman. Wrapped around a man. Looked like me.

Too real.

People stared and judged. But the photography students barely needed a second.

“This is fake. Badly edited, actually. The face resolution doesn’t match the body.”

“And Ethan-didn’t you date her? You don’t even know she has a mole on her arm?”

Silence.

In the photo-

perfect skin with no moles.

Case closed.

Ethan’s face flushed red. He looked at me. Guilt was written all over him.

“I’m sorry…”

“I was just… angry.”

“I love you too much.”

“If you didn’t cheat… then why did you break up with me?”

“I’ve thought about what you said.”

“I know I went too far.”

“Can you give me another chance?”

I laughed.

Cold.

Sharp.

“Another chance?”

“After what you did to me?”

“You destroyed my reputation.”

“And now you want a reset?”

“You believed lies over me.”

Chapter 5 Clearing My Name

“Even after a year together.”

“We’re done.”

I turned and walked away.

That day-everything flipped. The rumors died. The truth spread.

And people finally saw-what Chloe had been doing.

Sending her men to me. Using me. Hiding behind me.

My phone buzzed nonstop.

Victor Kane.

Message after message.

[Hey, baby girl, what were you doing? Why didn’t you reply?]

[What do I need to do for you to let me add Chloe?]

[I can’t sleep thinking about her.]

[She acts all cold, huh? That’s fine. I’ll warm her up.]

I almost rolled my eyes.

Then I typed-

[Alright. I’ll send you her contact.]

[Also-if you’re serious, don’t just text.]

[Come to our campus. Bring gifts. She likes that.]

[If you won’t spend money, no wonder she’s not interested.]

Chloe was already out. Probably on another date. Different guy. Same act.

I stood in a quiet corner. And forwarded her contact—to Victor Kane.

Last life, she told him:

“If you want me, win over my best friend first.”

“Spend money. Make her happy.”

While I slept, she used my phone. Pretended to be me. Took his money and gifts. Promised him a relationship.

All lies.

And when everything blew up-

She pointed at me and cried,

“I didn’t know anything…She tricked you.”
