I Am Not An Omega, I Am The Queen Of The Deep Sea Chapter 07
Meanwhile, I was dealing with troublemakers atÂ
the bottom of the ocean.Â
I flicked my tail. The current I created flipped theÂ
biggest jellyfish over. I stabbed it with my tridentÂ
for good measure.Â
The rest scattered in every direction.Â
“Your Majesty, are you alright?” Cassian swam upÂ
to me, his amber eyes full of concern.Â
“Why wouldn’t I be?” I wiped slime off my trident.Â
“It was just jellyfish.”Â
Cassian stayed right beside me, not moving anÂ
inch.Â
I turned to look at him. “Cassian, can you back off a little? You’re starting to remind me of Vaelor’s bodyguards.”Â
Cassian’s face darkened. “Don’t compare me to that hairy land mammal.”Â
“Okay, okay, I won’t.” I kept swimming.Â
He kept following.Â
After about five minutes, I couldn’t take itÂ
anymore. “How long are you going to keep thisÂ
up?”Â
Cassian was quiet for a few seconds. Then heÂ
said in a low voice, “I’m afraid you’ll fall in love with another species.”Â
I couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m not that easy. AndÂ
honestly, no one in the ocean is as hot as Vaelor.”Â
Cassian’s face went completely black. He swam inÂ
front of me, blocking my way.Â
“You still think that hairy land mammal is hot?” HisÂ
voice went up an octave. “He lost you, and now he’s putting on this big dramatic act of longing. It’sÂ
disgusting!”Â
“Acting?” I frowned. “How do you know? Did you go check on land?”Â
“I was monitoring the coastline.” His voice was muffled. “But that was to prevent a second siren from going to land. Wolves are evil creatures. I had to make sure no other sirens got tricked by them.”Â
“The second siren to go to land might still be me.” I smiled. “Since I’m hosting a feast on the coast in aÂ
month.”Â
Cassian’s head whipped toward me, eyes huge. “You’re going to land again?”Â
“Yeah.”Â
“Do you still love him?”Â
His voice sounded pained. Like something insideÂ
him was breaking.Â
“Of course not.” I shrugged. “But if we don’t meetÂ
again, how can he really let go?”Â
Cassian stared at me for several seconds. ThenÂ
he let out a long, relieved breath.Â
“Good. I’m coming with you.”Â
“No need-”Â
“I have to come with you.” Cassian’s tone left no room for argument. “If that hairy mammal tries toÂ
catch you and lock you in a tank again, I can at least flip his boat.”Â
I thought about it and nodded.Â
“Fine.”Â
The Stormhowl Pack received an invitation fromÂ
the bottom of the sea. On it was a special crest–a silver–blue fish tail. Exactly like the one he’d seen. that day.Â
“It’s her… it has to be her!” Vaelor clutched theÂ
invitation. “She’s not dead! She’s the siren! She’sÂ
coming back to get revenge on me… I don’t care. As long as I can see her… as long as I can seeÂ
her…”Â
He immediately brought the three kids with him.Â
“I’m taking you to see your Mom,” he told them. “She used to love you more than anything. Behave yourselves. Don’t disappoint her.”Â
The three kids nodded like their lives depended onÂ
- it.Â
They were genuinely scared now.Â
Missing her had wrapped around their hearts likeÂ
thorns.Â
Alaric prepared a new gift. This time, the inscription wouldn’t have the wrong name.Â
Torren brought some new fish he’d caught. ForÂ
once, he wanted to hunt for his mother.Â
Morrigan brought two shark plushies–one forÂ
herself, one for her mom. This time, she justÂ
wanted her mom.Â
The Siren Feast was three days later.Â
It was held in an ancient building on the coast.Â
Half on land, half in the water. Guests waded in upÂ
to their ankles, their pants soaking wet, lookingÂ
miserable.Â
“What kind of place is this…” a wolf noblewomanÂ
grumbled, holding up her skirt and standing on herÂ
toes.Â
“Sirens have weird taste,” someone else agreed.Â
But no one complained too loud. Because theÂ
underwater species were also present.Â
When Vaelor walked into the hall with his threeÂ
kids, the water came up to his ankles. MorriganÂ
just took off her shoes and carried them.Â
“Oh, look who it is. The Alpha of Stormhowl Pack.”Â
A burly man suddenly spoke up. Vaelor’s rival,Â
Ruric.Â
“Heard things haven’t been going well for youÂ
lately. Border attacks? Dozens of your warriors dead? Too scared to fight back?”Â
“Also heard your Luna ran away.” He clicked hisÂ
tongue. “Can’t even keep your own woman–what kind of Alpha are you?”Â
A few other Alphas from surrounding packsÂ
chuckled.Â
Vaelor endured the mockery. He didn’t want to ruinÂ
this banquet. He still wanted to see Thalassa.Â
Besides… wasn’t this exactly what Thalassa hadÂ
suffered through before?Â
Back then, his friends would surround Thalassa,Â
calling her “sickly” and “not good enough forÂ
Vaelor.” She’d stand there, head down, not talking,Â
her eyes red.Â
And him?Â
He’d hold his wine glass and laugh casually.Â
He let his Luna get mocked.Â
But it wouldn’t happen again. He had to find herÂ
and beg for her forgiveness.Â
Just then, a loud voice echoed from the depths ofÂ
the hall. “Announcing Her Majesty the Queen!”Â
The whole room went silent.Â
Vaelor’s head shot up.Â
He didn’t know much about sirens. Only that they lived in the deep sea, were incredibly powerful, and almost never interacted with land species. He’d come to this feast because of that fish–tail crestÂ
on the invitation. He wanted news of Thalassa.Â
Even just a clue.Â
But when he saw the Siren Queen, his whole bodyÂ
froze.Â
It was Thalassa.Â
How could it be Thalassa?Â
She’d changed.Â
She walked in wearing a red gown. The skirt wasÂ
covered in countless diamonds and jewels. HerÂ
silver–white hair fell over her shoulders, held backÂ
by a crown.Â
Everyone held their breath, stunned by herÂ
breathtaking beauty.Â
Cassian walked behind her in a sharp blackÂ
military uniform, like a loyal knight behind hisÂ
queen.Â
The room was completely silent.Â
“M–Mom?” Morrigan was the first to react. HerÂ
eyes went wide with disbelief. One of her twoÂ
shark plushies fell out of her hand, and she didn’tÂ
even notice.Â
Alaric stood in the water, frozen solid. His lipsÂ
were trembling.Â
Torren’s face went pale. This was the woman whoÂ
made him dinner every day?Â
The unfamiliar Thalassa stood at the highestÂ
point, scanning the room like she was surveyingÂ
her own territory.Â
“Let me reintroduce myself.”Â
I stepped forward.Â
“I’m Thalassa. The ruler of this sea.”
