Luna’s Goodbye to Her Deceitful Alpha Chapter 05
In the video, Sebastian and Brenda were fooling around in the pack’s meeting room office.Â
Brenda nuzzled against his neck. “Alpha, who’sÂ
better? Me or Nicole?”Â
Sebastian’s face went dark instantly. His Alpha dominance flared. “Don’t compare yourself to her. She’s my future Luna. You and me? We’re justÂ
using each other. That’s all.”Â
But Brenda’s eyes got wet. She let out two fake sobs. And just like that, he softened and startedÂ
coaxing her.Â
Suddenly, Sebastian’s head snapped up. He alertly glanced toward the camera. “Who’s there?”Â
The video cut off.Â
The servant sent a voice message. “Nicole, no wonder you said the Alpha was dead. A mate likeÂ
that is no good.”Â
“I told him I was just dropping off your dinner.Â
Please. You need to leave now.”Â
Two more weeks of rest went by. My body wasÂ
almost back to normal.Â
It was time to leave Stonevein Pack for good.Â
I picked a day to say my final goodbyes to myÂ
friends. It happened to be my birthday.Â
Sebastian had once planned our bondingÂ
ceremony for this same day. He kept saying he was going to give me a happy new life as hisÂ
Luna.Â
I let out a bitter laugh. Ending all this mess and starting over? Wasn’t that its own kind of newÂ
beginning?Â
Then the designer called. She asked if I stillÂ
wanted to make any changes to the Luna dress I’dÂ
ordered for the bonding ceremony.Â
I suddenly remembered I hadn’t confirmed theÂ
final alterations.Â
I rushed to the design studio.Â
Through the window, I happened to see BrendaÂ
wearing my dress. Sebastian had his arm aroundÂ
her waist. They looked sweet. Like destinedÂ
mates.Â
Right then, I felt nothing but relief that I’d endedÂ
the pregnancy.Â
You can’t pull back a heart that’s chosen to chase pleasure.Â
Without that pup tying me down, I could start fresh. Clean.Â
Before I knew it, my birthday arrived. I packed my things and walked out of my friend’s house.Â
At the same time, Sebastian decided he’d had enough fun. Time to “get his memory back” on schedule.Â
He said to Logan, “That’s enough. The bonding ceremony is happening as planned. Let’s go pick Nicole up and take her to the Moonlight Temple.”Â
He thought that once he “remembered,” I’d throw myself into his arms, crying, and forgive everything he’d done.Â
They got everything ready, all happy and excited. The confetti cannons were aimed and waiting.Â
The moment the pack house door opened, they shouted together, “Surprise!”Â
Confetti flew everywhere. It landed comically all over the confused Omega wolf’s head.Â
“Who are you people?”Â
Sebastian’s smile froze. He yanked the Omega byÂ
the collar, his eyes bloodshot. The words cameÂ
out through clenched teeth.Â
“Where’s Nicole? How did you get in here?”Â
The Omega had been completely drunk. But theÂ
violent energy rolling off Sebastian sobered himÂ
up halfway.Â
Shaking, he reached into his dirty pocket andÂ
pulled out the keys I’d given him.Â
“A… a really pretty she–wolf gave them to me. SheÂ
said her mate was dead. She didn’t want theÂ
house anymore. So she gave it to me.”Â
“Her mate was dead?” Those four words hitÂ
Sebastian like a thunderclap.Â
“Nicole! Are you hiding in there trying to make meÂ
look like a fool?”Â
He shoved the Omega aside like a madman andÂ
burst into the bedroom. It was completely empty.Â
Not a trace of my scent left behind.Â
His hands shook as he dialed my number. TheÂ
voice on the other end was cold. Dead. “TheÂ
number you have reached is not in service.”Â
Panic tore through him. The suffocating feeling ofÂ
a severed mate bond crashed over him. It left himÂ
gasping for air..Â
His wolves rushed to steady him. They were all talking at once, throwing out ideas.Â
“Alpha, don’t worry. That she–wolf loved you for tenÂ
years. There’s no way she’d actually leave. She’sÂ
just putting on a show.”Â
“Right. Just go ahead with the bonding ceremony. She’s probably hiding somewhere watching. TheÂ
second she sees someone else standing next toÂ
you, she’ll come running back crying.”Â
Sebastian’s gut told him everything was alreadyÂ
out of control. But right then, he was like aÂ
drowning man. He’d grab onto anything. Even aÂ
lifeline that sounded completely insane.Â
He gritted his teeth and turned to Brenda, who hadÂ
been waiting impatiently for a long time.Â
“The bonding ceremony is happening as planned.Â
You’ll be my mate.”Â
Brenda couldn’t believe it. She threw herself intoÂ
his arms, her eyes already shining with greed and triumph. She could almost feel the Luna title in herÂ
hands.
