He Made My Parents Wait, So I Stopped Waiting Chapter 07

On the other side, Mrs. Wentworth stared blankly at the phone she had just disconnected.

Violet’s sharp crying kept ringing in her ears.

She looked up and scolded with cold sarcasm, “Sebastian is in surgery. He can’t see this fake little act of

yours. You can stop pretending.”

Violet’s face stiffened.

Then tears gathered in her eyes as she turned to Mrs. Wentworth.

“Mrs. Wentworth, what do you mean? I’m only worried about Sebastian.”

Mrs. Wentworth looked at her and laughed coldly.

“Do you really think I can’t see through your cheap performance?”

“Before, I disliked Winifred, so I deliberately sided with you to make her suffer.”

“Now that I think about it, I truly lost more than I gained. I picked up a fake gem and threw away the real one.”

Violet still wanted to say something.

But in the next second, the operating room door opened.

Mrs. Wentworth could no longer care about Violet.

She rushed forward in excitement.

“Doctor, how is my son?”

The doctor took off his mask and looked at them.

“His vital signs are stable now, but…”

Under their tense gazes, the doctor said heavily, “But his right leg will likely have permanent damage.”

Mrs. Wentworth staggered back and fell into a chair.

“It’s fine. It’s fine. As long as he’s alive.”

In the hospital room, Sebastian woke up.

After a brief moment of confusion, he looked around in panic.

“Winnie… Winnie…”

Violet, who had been guarding beside him, flashed with jealousy.

Then she spoke weakly.

“Sebastian, Winifred left with her parents.”

“Something this serious happened to you, and when she heard about it, she didn’t care at all.”

“She doesn’t have you in her heart. Sebastian, can you please look at me?”

“I’ve actually liked you in secret for ten years.”

Sebastian’s expression froze.

He turned to look at the girl he had always thought was innocent, pure, and too naive to understand anything.

He thought about what he had once said to Winifred.

He had said Violet was just a kid.

He had said she hadn’t awakened to love yet and didn’t understand romance.

At this moment, those words hit his face like a loud slap.

His voice was hoarse when he asked, “Those Instagram stories before, and the things you deliberately left in

my car, were they all intentional?”

Violet nodded and admitted it openly.

“Yes. I did it on purpose.”

“Sebastian, I just wanted you to see your own heart sooner.”

“On her birthday, you went with me to Disney to watch fireworks.”

“You picked a fight with her on purpose so you could make time to take me to see the northern lights.”

“When it rained, your umbrella always leaned toward me.”

“When we went anywhere together, I always sat in your passenger seat.”

“Every time there was conflict, you always stood on my side.”

“It’s obvious, Sebastian. The person you like is me.”

Sebastian spoke up.

His denial was firmer than ever.

“No.”

Violet froze.

In the next second, thunder seemed to explode in her ears.

“I was just being stubborn. I was picking fights with Winnie on purpose.”

“She was too calm around me. No matter how late I came home or how much I joked around with my assistant, she never got jealous.”

“I was scared. I was afraid she would do what she did back then and end things with one text.”

“Later, you came to the Wentworth house to deliver some local gifts, and you met Winnie.”

“She was too warm to you, Violet. So warm that I got jealous.”

“At one in the morning, I tried to hold her, but she wouldn’t let me because she was helping you with a

problem set.”

“On holidays, I wanted to travel with her, but she said no because she had invited you over for dinner.”

“I was jealous that she treated you so well. She just smiled and said she had always wanted a younger

sister.”

“Then one more time, she left me behind because you asked her for help.”

“That was when I suddenly had a perfect idea.”

“How could I make her hate you?”

Violet looked at Sebastian’s increasingly obsessive face.

Her own face turned pale in an instant.

She suddenly remembered that the Wentworth family had sponsored her for thirteen years.

She had met Sebastian more than once, but he had never shown any real interest in her.

Until that one time, when Winifred’s gaze landed on her.

Only then did the prince she had looked up to for ten years finally spare her a glance.

She had thought fate was favoring her.

Now it seemed…

The low voice ringing in her ears confirmed everything.

“So I sided with you again and again on purpose.”

“I watched Winnie get jealous, angry, and upset.”

“And then I succeeded. She stopped paying attention to you completely.”

“I was planning to remove you from our lives after the wedding.”

“But I didn’t expect… I didn’t expect her to leave so cleanly.”

Sebastian choked and stared at the ceiling.

His heart was filled with endless remorse and regret.

He had gone too far.

He had enjoyed watching Winifred fall apart over him too much.

So his actions became more extreme.

More out of control.

“If both you and I are punished, will Winnie forgive me?”

Sebastian’s gaze fell on Violet.

It was strangely cold.

Violet backed away in fear.

“Don’t. Don’t look at me like that, Sebastian. You’re scaring me…”
