My Parents Spoiled Adopted Daughter While Neglected Me, I Sneaked To Hometown Pack Chapter 02

Dad clutched his chest, devastated.

Once he was sure Amy was okay, he turned his anger on me.

“What did you come up here for? You know Amy can’t stand seeing you. Were you trying to upset her on purpose?”

“We’ve raised you all these years, and you still can’t learn to be close to us.”

Amy stayed curled in my brother’s arms and said, her voice pitiful, “Dad… I’m sorry. This is all my fault.”

“I won’t go to Silvermoon Fen. You take Hannah to the Werewolf Elite Academy and get her enrolled. Stop worrying about me.”

My brother tightened his arms around her, shot me a dirty look, and kissed the top of her head.

“You didn’t do anything wrong. The one who shouldn’t go is you.”

“We already set up the best werewolf instructors at the academy for you. Tomorrow, we’re all going with you to get you enrolled.”

Amy’s pretty little face still looked unhappy. She pointed at me.

“What about her?”

“Is she coming with us?”

My brother glared at me, his voice hard.

“She’s not coming with us.”

Finally, a smile broke across Amy’s face.

“Sorry, Hannah. Guess you’ll just have to put up with being left out for a while. Mom, Dad, and my brother can’t help spoiling me. But hey… maybe someday we’ll figure out how to get along.”

Where my parents and brother couldn’t see, she shot me a victorious grin. The smugness in her eyes spread like vines choking a tree.

Pathetic, right?

Ever since I was brought back to Ironclaw Pack, Amy had done everything she could, openly, to push me out.

If Mom, Dad, or my brother showed me even a little kindness, she’d throw a tantrum.

Slowly, she wore down their patience with me.

Like she was terrified I’d steal even a crumb of their love.

But maybe she’d never know, the family she schemed so hard to keep all to herself was the same family I’d spent ten years trying to escape.

Because the parents who raised me on Frostveil Island had already poured so much love into my bones that I didn’t have a drop left to give anyone else.

Including my birth parents. Including my blood brother.

After I left Amy’s room, my brother cleared his throat awkwardly. His voice sounded rough.

“Don’t worry,” he said, like he was trying to comfort me. “Amy’s just spoiled, that’s all. You’re still going to the Elite Academy. I’m not ditching you.”

I stayed quiet. Didn’t answer.

At first, when they suggested I go to Silvermoon Fen with Amy, I said no.

But the second I tried to refuse, they all shot me down.

They said if Amy got something, I had to get it too. It wouldn’t be fair otherwise.

But my Luna mother packed three huge suitcases full of things for Amy and never once asked what I needed.

Dad used his Alpha connections to call in favors with the werewolf professor in charge of Amy’s studies, asking him to look after her, but he never even asked who my professor was.

My brother put the softest cushions and warmest blankets on Amy’s seat on the private jet, but he never prepared a seat for me at all.

They said they didn’t want to treat me unfairly. But every single thing they did proved otherwise.

Love isn’t about words. It’s about action. And their actions showed me exactly where I stood.

It was late when my brother finally knocked on my door again.

“Hannah, I booked you a separate ticket for tomorrow morning. Since Amy doesn’t want to see you right now. Just… stay out of her sight for a while.”

“Don’t worry. I got you a business class seat. Just hit the call button if you need anything. Super easy.”

He practically rushed through those last two sentences, like saying them would prove he’d actually thought about me.

But self-deception always sounds hollow.

After a moment, I just said, “Ok.”

I turned to close the door.

But he suddenly stuck his leg out and blocked it.
