Imprisoned, Poisoned, She Took His Throne Chapter 08
After suffering a series of setbacks recently, the Vitale family decided to form an alliance with the
Irish gang in Chicago.
The meeting between the two families took place in the conference room at the Vitale family
headquarters.
However, Luca didn’t know that the person he was about to meet was me.
I opened the door and led the group inside.
Luca sat in the head seat, looking pale with dark circles under his eyes; he appeared utterly
dejected.
Giulia sat beside him, her belly prominently rounded.
“Elena… you’re not dead.”
I curved my lips. “Don Vitale, long time no see.”
Giulia screamed, “That’s impossible! Elena has been dead for ages. Who on earth are you?”
I ignored her.
I walked to Luca and tossed a document onto the desk.
“Sign it.”
Luca looked down and turned pale.
That is an asset transfer agreement.
All of the Vitale family’s territories, arms trafficking operations, casinos, and clubs were to be
transferred to the Salerno family.
“You’re crazy,” Luca said, his voice trembling. “That’s impossible.”
“Look behind you.”
He turned his head.
Forty fully armed Made Men were standing at the entrance to the conference room-all my men.
“Where’ are yours?” I asked.
Luca opened his mouth but couldn’t speak.
“I’ll answer for you. Your men are either in my pocket or six feet under. And as for your capos,
almost all of them have already switched sides.”
Giulia screamed, “Luca! Kill her! Kill her now!”
Luca stood motionless.
I looked at Giulia and clapped my hands.
The doctor walked in.
Giulia recognized him as the doctor who had administered the abortion medication to me all those years ago, and her face instantly turned pale.
She frantically shook Luca’s arm: “Luca, help me…”
I waved.
Two bodyguards stepped forward and grabbed Giulia.
“Take her to the room downstairs. Tell the doctor to prepare for surgery.”
“No! No!” Giulia screamed, “Luca! Help me! Save me!”
Luca rushed over and knelt down in front of me.
“Elena, please, don’t hurt the child. I’ll give you anything you want. My territory, my money, my
life-I’ll give you everything.”
I looked down at him.
The man who had once been so high and mighty was now kneeling on the ground, tears streaming
down his face.
“Everything?” I laughed. “Well, what if I don’t want these things-what if I take this child’s life
instead?”
Luca froze.
I crouched down and looked into his eyes.
“Do you know how I felt back then? I felt like my body had been hollowed out. I felt like my heart
had been ripped out. I felt like I’d be better off dead.”
“Now it’s your turn to feel it.”
I stood up.
The surgery lasted forty minutes.
The doctor came out, head bowed: “Donna, the surgery went well.”
I nodded. “What about Giulia?”
“Still awake.”
“Bring her here.”
Giulia was dragged in by two bodyguards. She was deathly pale, and her dress was covered in blood
When she saw me, her eyes were filled with hatred.
“You lunatic… you lunatic…”
I walked up to her.
“Lunatic? Back when you were standing on my hands and made me kneel to polish your shoes, did you ever imagine this day would come?”
“When you called my three children ‘poor little things’ back then, did you ever imagine this day
would come?”
“When you locked me in the basement and forced me to lick your shoes with my tongue, did you ever imagine this day would come?”
Giulia was speechless.
I grabbed her chin and shoved her to the ground.
Luca looked up, his eyes bloodshot. “Enough! What do you
want?”
I laughed.
“You think that’s it? No. This is just the beginning.”
