99 Times He Left Me Mid-Moon for a Fake Omega – The 100th? I Marked His Rival Alpha Chapter 11
“You sure about this, Lupa? The Northern Territories aren’t exactly a vacation spot.”
“I’m sure.”
“Alright. Someone’ll contact your in two days with the details.”
I hung up and looked around the den-five years of scent markers, shared memories, our whole life built together. Now it just felt like a graveyard.
I started packing my stuff, then pulled out all our mating ceremony photos and the letters he’d written during our courtship. Age ten to twenty five. from First Shift to Mating Ceremony. Every memory that had felt so real.
But I burned it all. Every photo, every “you’re my forever” scrawled in his handwriting-reduced to ash.
The flames reflected off my tear-soaked face, flickering like everything else that used to feel solid.
At this time, my phone buzzed-Perrin’s pack trainer calling.
“Luna Darkfang, the youth trials start in ten minutes. Are you close?”
“Sorry, I’m running late. I’ll be right there.”
After hanging up, I raced to the training grounds, practically shifted mid-run to get there faster-only to walk straight into a living nightmare.
Finnian and Morrigan were running obstacle courses with Perrin, all three of them laughing like the perfect family.
This was coming from the guy who used to groan about “pup stuff” and dodge every youth event. Guess it hits different when you’re performing for your actual mate.
Perrin spotted me first, his little face scrunching up in annoyance.
“Ugh, why’d you even here? You can leave now-I’ve got Dad and Ms. Morrigan.”
Before I could even process that gut-punch, Morrigan dropped to her knees and started clawing at her own face-hard enough to draw blood.
“Luna! Please don’t blame Finnian! I just missed him so much-this is all my fault!”
Finnian immediately grabbed her wrists, looking at her like she was about to shatter, then shot me a look cold enough to freeze a wolf.
“You couldn’t even get here on time. If Morrigan hadn’t joined, Perrin would’ve been the only pup sitting alone. Maybe try saying thanks instead of starting shit.”
Even little Perrin planted himself in front of Morrigan like a mini bodyguard.
“You’re not even my real mom! I want Ms. Morrigan to be my mom instead!”
There they stood-a united front-ripping apart what was left of my heart.
“Wait,” I said, somehow finding my voice through the pain. “Didn’t you block her from the pack link? How did you two just randomly run into each other?”
That made Finnian’s face go full deer-in-headlights mode.
“Uh, we just… she works nearby, so we ran into each other at-”
Pathetic excuse, but I was way past caring about his lies.
Twat let’s all do the next trial together then
Maybe he heard how dead I sounded, because his voice softened as he reached for my hand
Hey, let’s just focus on having fun today, yeah?”
But Perrin looked at me like I was dirt under his claws. It took Morrigan a full minute of sweet talking before he grudgingly agreed to let me tag bing
Five years of bedtime stories and patching up training injuries-wiped out by some stranger in five minutes.
I let out a bitter laugh.
The next activity was target practice with training stones. Perrin’s eyes lit up with excitement, but my gut screamed this wouldn’t end well.
Sure enough-every single stone he threw came straight at me. They were supposed to be light practice throws, but each one hit like a rock, leaving sharp stings across my skin.
The last one went straight for my head.
CRACK
Warm liquid trickled down my forehead as screams erupted around me.
Through all the chaos, Perrin was literally bouncing with excitement, running over to high-five Morrigan.
“Ms. Morrigan, did you see how good my aim was?!”
I stood there in shock, staring at them. The cut on my head hurt, but my heart hurt way worse.
“These aren’t training stones!”
Finnian picked one up, his face going white.
“We need to check the equipment den cameras. Now.”
I locked eyes with Morrigan and caught the flash of panic before she quickly covered it up.
“Maybe someone just grabbed the wrong ones by mistake? We should get Lupa to the healer first.”
Morrigan grabbed Finnian’s wrist, her expression weird and desperate.
Something about the way she looked at him made his whole body freeze up. He opened his mouth, then just gave a stiff nod.
“Yeah… let’s deal with the injury first. Everyone else can keep going.”
“Keep going? Are you serious?” My voice got louder as I stepped closer. “This was on purpose! We need to figure out what the hell happened!”
Finnian grabbed my arm hard enough to leave bruises, his voice dropping to a threatening whisper:
“Lupa, do you really wanna make a scene in front of the whole pack? It’s just a little blood. You can cure yourself. Stop being so damn dramatic.”
Perrin peeked out from behind Morrigan and stuck his tongue out at me.
“Nyah nyah! It’s your own fault for being too slow to dodge!”
A few other pack members looked like they wanted to say something-but nobody stepped up. Just me, bleeding and outnumbered, facing down their little united front.
Standing there with blood streaming down half my face, I actually started laughing. They really were the perfect family.
And I was just the pathetic outsider.
I turned to leave, and Finnian moved like he was going to stop me, but then Morrigan’s voice rang out:
“Finnyan, I think I got cut too! It really hurts!”
I heard his footsteps stop behind me.
That was it. Fuck it. I was so done with him, with this sick joke of a life, and with Perrin too. He’d already chosen her new mom anyway.
I decided that tonight I’d tell my parents I was severing this bond for good.
After getting stitched up at the healer’s den, I drove home close to midnight-only to find the packhouse packed with wolves. Firmian was upstairs with my dad, looking way too comfortable.
My dad cleared his throat and announced to the crowd:
“I want to thank the Darkfang Pack for helping us find my real daughter.”
Everyone went dead silent. Including me.
Then a familiar figure stepped into the spotlight.
