99 Times He Left Me Mid-Moon for a Fake Omega – The 100th? I Marked His Rival Alpha Chapter 03
SLAPT
My wolf finally snapped and ran up to slap him across the face
He turned, saw it was me, and is whole expression went cold as silver
“Arden, what the actual fuck?”
“You’re asking me? You drove me to this!”
Thinking about our pup-the one I’d never get to hold-my wolf let out a broken howl inside my chest.
“Maddox, are you okay?”
Quinn stood there, all wide-eyed and innocent.
“Arden, don’t be mad at him. This is all my fault. I’m so sorry…”
SLAP!
I spun around and hit her too.
“Damn right it’s your fault! You know he’s mated, but you keep throwing yourself at him. What’s your endgame here?”
Quinn held her cheek. Tears started rolling. Fake ones.
“I… I didn’t…”
Maddox saw that and shoved me hard. His wolf growled-deadly low.
“Arden, stop projecting your toxic bullshit onto everyone!”
“How dare you say such vile things! Do you have no decency at all? Your parents died early and left no one to teach you how to behave like a decent wolf, didn’t they!”
My world stopped. I stared at Maddox. My wolf went completely still.
He didn’t. He didn’t just go there.
My parents burned to death fifteen years ago. Some rogues set the fire for revenge-because little me helped one of their victims escape.
That fire took everything. Left me with nothing.
It’s the worst scar my wolf carries. And Maddox just used it to DEFEND Quinn.
The wolf who knows you best? Yeah. He knows exactly where to stick the silver.
I stumbled back. My wolf whimpered. I probably looked white as death.
Opened my mouth. Nothing came out.
I got my parents killed. And now I couldn’t even save my own pup.
All my energy drained. I turned and walked off like a hollow shell.
Maddox watched me go. Finally noticed the blood dried on my clothes.
He took a step to follow. Then Quinn piped up.
“I’m so sorry, Maddox. I’m just causing drama between you guys.”
“Maybe I should quit. Just disappear.”
She forced the words out-pale, tragic, the whole act. Then she turned to leave.
Maddox forgot about me instantly. Rushed to stop her.
“Don’t say that. You saved my life once. Everything I do is just paying that back.”
Got home. Left the signed severance papers on the table. Then dragged myself to the bedroom.
I wanted to pack and leave. But between the crash and losing the pup? I had nothing left. Collapsed on the bed. Blacked out.
No idea how long I was out before someone yanked me off the mattress and threw me on the floor.
“Arden, I never thought you could become such a vindictive bitch!”
