I Traveled into the Future and Became the Alpha’s Luna Chapter 01

I Traveled into the Future and Became the Alpha’s Luna Chapter 01

Last night, Caleb went at it ’til damn near dawn.

Insatiable bastard.

Almost took me out.

“Caleb!”

I bossed him around out of habit, “Get me a glass of water.”

But no one answered.

The silk sheet slid off as I sat up, revealing the clingy camisole I had on.

He’d gone so hard last night, and yet there wasn’t a single mark on me.

Wait—

I stared at my lower belly in shock.

What the hell was this slight bump?

Was I… pregnant?

The room was unfamiliar, all gray and white, with touches of luxury in every detail.

Only the messy pile of pelts in the corner reminded me—this was a wolf’s den.

But I clearly remembered.

Last night, I was with Caleb in his crappy old apartment.

Getting lost in that Alpha’s scent on that ratty blanket, totally gone…

Panicking, I dialed Caleb’s number without thinking.

“What?”

He was ice cold.

I bit my lip, freaked out and pissed, “Where’d you go?”

“The council hall.”

“What council hall? You work at a garage.”

I was confused. Caleb Thorn was a stray wolf, no way he’d rate a council hall.

He paused.

Caleb’s voice came through the line, cold as hell.

“You gonna drag up my past again, is that it?”

“What past?”

I was totally lost. “Don’t you work at a garage?”

“And last night we were at your old apartment, so how come today—”

Click.

Dead air.

Caleb just hung up on me.

Son of a bitch!

I cursed under my breath.

I was about to call him back when my eyes froze on the screen.

2031…

So, it was five years later?

I stared at the bump, the realization slowly hitting me—I’d time-skipped five years into the future.

And I was pregnant.

There was an old photo on the nightstand.

Me, all dolled up, standing next to Caleb in a sleeveless shirt, looking rugged as hell.

I took a breath and called him back.

“Caleb, we’re married, right?”

“How many years now?”

“How the hell did my dad ever agree to let me marry you?”

I was desperate to know what had happened in those five years.

But Caleb seemed to get the wrong idea.

He let out a bitter laugh. “Elena Vance, you gonna tell me you regret it again?”

“This is the third time this month you’ve brought up breaking the contract.”

He paused. “I told you, I’m not agreeing to it.”

“Who said anything about breaking the contract?”

I was shocked.

Caleb’s face, his body, his jackhammer stamina, and now he seemed loaded.

How stupid would I have to be to wanna break things off with him?

The line went dead quiet.

Quiet enough that I could hear his breathing speed up.

After a long moment.

He said flatly, “Whatever.”

Then he hung up again before I could say a word.

Seriously, since when did this guy get so damn temperamental?

Probably my fault for spoiling him.

You can’t spoil men.

Once I realized I was in my own house, I finally relaxed.

I got dressed to go downstairs.

But when I opened the closet, I froze.

A riot of loud, garish colors.

And every single outfit was trashier than the last.

Jeez.

Future me had terrible taste.

I finally found a halfway decent dress and put it on, then shuffled downstairs.

I ran into a familiar face.

“Margaret!”

I was so happy. Margaret was my family’s omega nanny, she’d raised me since I was little.

Running into someone I knew in this strange future made me feel safe.

“Perfect timing,” I said, grabbing her arm. “I’m gonna cook Caleb a meal.”

“With you teaching me, I might actually pull it off.”

Margaret’s face was complicated.

She hesitated, then said softly, “Luna, are you… gonna mess with the Alpha again?”

Mess with?

I thought about my disastrous cooking skills.

Okay, fair.

She tried to say more, but I cut her off. “I know Caleb.”

“Even if it’s terrible, he’ll choke it down.”

Wait. Why’d she call me Luna?
