Eight Months Pregnant, He Signed For My Death Chapter 10
Caleb slowly lifted his head.
His eyes were ice cold, devoid of any warmth.
“Lexi,” he said quietly. “You lied to me. For a woman like you,
for a bastard child, I hurt the person who loved me most. I
even killed my only child with my own hands.”
His voice dropped to a terrifying whisper. “I won’t let you get
away with this.”
Lexi froze.
Then she screamed, completely breaking down. “Caleb! You can’t do this to me! Everything I did was for you…”
Her voice faded as she was dragged away, disappearing
completely.
The wedding collapsed into chaos.
Caleb shot to his feet like a madman, grabbing his assistant. “Where’s Vivian? Where is she? I need to find her! I’ll beg her! I’ll give her anything, the company, the money, everything! As long as she forgives me…”
The assistant’s face tightened. He hesitated before speaking softly. “Mr. Vance… Ms. Rhodes already left.”
Caleb froze. “Left?”
The assistant nodded. “Before she went, she asked me to pass along a message.”
Caleb’s throat tightened. “What did she say?”
The assistant lowered his voice. “She said… from this moment
on, the two of you will never see each other again. Not in this
life.”
The words hit.
And just like that, Caleb looked hollowed out.
After that, everything fell apart.
Vance Group was hit with scandal after scandal. Infertility, the fake wedding, and a flood of corporate dirt exploded across the internet overnight.
Investors pulled out one after another. The stock price
crashed.
Within months, the company was forced into bankruptcy and liquidation. Its assets were carved up and devoured by former
rivals.
Some said that the last time anyone saw Caleb, he was sitting
alone in his empty office.
On the desk sat a cheap, plain silver ring.
The men transferred the money into my account.
I didn’t refuse.
I used it to open a small coffee shop. Nothing fancy, just quiet
and warm.
The sunlight was always good. I ground the beans myself,
served customers, and let life slow down.
Days passed, simple and peaceful.
Later, I heard that Caleb sold everything he had and went
around begging just to see me once.
Some said he knelt in the rain for an entire night.
Others said he kept repeating the same sentence over and over
like he’d lost his mind.
“I was wrong.”
But I never looked back.
Some mistakes can’t be undone with regret.
And finally, I was living a life without him.
