Eight Months Pregnant, He Signed For My Death Chapter 08

Eight Months Pregnant, He Signed For My Death Chapter 08

There was a trace of unwillingness in her eyes.

The wedding you prepared for meit starts in an hour. If we

go back now, we can still make it.”

Caleb looked at her, then smiled faintly.

Alright. Whatever you want.”

The wedding venue sparkled under dazzling lights.

Soft music filled the air.

Lexi stepped onto the stage in a fresh wedding gown, her smile

radiant.

Caleb stood beside her, his expression calm and composed,

just like always.

The officiant raised the microphone, about to begin.

Wait.”

The voice wasn’t loud, but it cut cleanly through the room.

Several men slowly rose from their seats, dressed in sharp suits, their expressions laced with amusement.

One of them smiled.

Mr. Vance, such a big occasion. How could we not come and offer a gift?”

Caleb’s gaze shifted toward them.

In that instant, an inexplicable sense of unease crept into his

chest.

He suppressed the irritation rising inside him and spoke

calmly.

Whatever gift you brought can wait until after the ceremony.”

But before anyone could respond, Lexi had already recognized

them.

Her eyes lit up instantly.

These were major players. Powerful figures in their circle.

Her heartbeat quickened, excitement flashing in her eyes.

Oh, thank you,she said sweetly. What kind of gift is it?

Why not show me now?”

Her tone carried unmistakable anticipation.

Caleb’s brows drew together immediately, a surge of displeasure rising within him.

For years, he had protected her from everything ugly in his

world. He made sure she never had to suffer, never had to deal

with people like this.

She didn’t know how these men had once suppressed him,

schemed against him, tried to destroy him. She didn’t know

how he clawed his way out of their traps step by step.

And now, right in front of him, she was smiling at his former

enemies, thanking them.

It felt like a slap to his face.

Caleb’s expression darkened.

Unbidden, a thought surfaced in his mind.

If it were Vivian, she wouldn’t have acted like this.

She would have sensed something was wrong immediately.

She would have handled it with composure, had them escorted

out with dignity. More than that, she would have made sure

they never even got the chance to walk in.

The moment the thought appeared, Caleb froze, his chest

tightening.

Why was he thinking about Vivian? Why was he comparing her

to Lexi?

His expression shifted slightly before he forced the thought

down.

Lexi was someone he had spoiled himself. She didn’t need to understand any of this. He shouldn’t expect her to.

With that, his face turned cold again.

If she wanted it, then she would have it.

Since Lexi wants to see it,he said flatly, go ahead.”

His tone was calm, as if he didn’t take them seriously at all.

The men exchanged glances, faint, meaningful smiles forming on their lips.

One of them lifted a hand and clapped twice.

In the next second, the lights in the hall dimmed.

The massive LED screen behind the stage flickered to life.

A breathy, suggestive moan suddenly echoed throughout the

entire venue.

The room erupted into chaos.

A cold smile tugged at Caleb’s lips.

. Just a video.

At worst, it was something involving him and Lexi. He didn’t

care.

The woman he loved had always been Lexi. If anything, this would only prove how strong their relationship was.

Still, he turned his head and looked at the screen.

Just one glance.

His expression changed completely.
