Mission Fail: Kill Me Now Chapter 06
Other than me and Casey, the only person who could have possibly driven that car was her.
Hannah suppressed the resentment in her eyes, her body swaying as if she might collapse at any
moment.
“I don’t know why Casey would help Chloe lie,” she said, “but I’m willing to take the blame for her in his place. Lucas, let me make it up to you.”
Then, without warning, she rushed into the kitchen, grabbed a fruit knife, and stabbed it hard into her own leg. Four figures flashed past my eyes as blood splattered everywhere. In their panic, Lucas and the others grabbed the blade with their bare hands.
Hannah clutched their arms, sobbing uncontrollably. “How could you hurt yourselves because of me? As long as you’re all okay, I’ll do anything. My only wish is that you don’t hate me. Lucas, I really wasn’t the one driving that day. I don’t know why Chloe insists it was me.”
Ignoring his own wounds, Lucas pulled her tightly into his arms, afraid she might do something reckless
again.
“Hannah, I believe you. No matter what you say, I believe you. I was wrong just now for letting myself be swayed by what certain people said.”
Hannah’s gaze fell on me. “But as long as I’m alive, Chloe will keep hurting herself to get your attention. She’s my sister. I can’t let anything happen to her.”
Hearing this, Lucas kicked the knife straight toward me.
“Since you’re so desperate to die, I’ll grant your wish. Go ahead, die now. No one’s stopping you. But do you even have the guts to? I won’t pursue what you did to my legs, but I won’t allow you to hurt Hannah
again.”
The blade reflected a sharp, blinding light. Without hesitation, I picked it up and drove it toward my heart. However, the moment it touched my body, a strong force pushed it away. The System was stopping me, and I didn’t understand why. So instead, I dragged the blade across my wrist, trying to bleed out.
Casey rushed to my side, his eyes reddening with urgency. He tried to stop the bleeding, but Lucas and
Leo stopped him.
“Casey, it’s just her wrist. She won’t die from that. Can’t you see she’s just putting on an act?”
Leo sneered, “Let’s make a bet. If we ignore her, how long do you think it’ll take before she runs to the hospital herself? Five minutes is generous. She’d probably call the fire department before jumping off a building.”
I let out a bitter laugh, but I didn’t explain. As my vision grew darker and darker, Hannah looked at me with smug satisfaction and leaned provocatively into Lucas’s arms.
System: [Congratulations, Host. Casey’s affection level has reached 50%. Reward: 500 points. Would you like me to exchange them for clear evidence from the car accident scene?]
“Yes…”
Darkness completely swallowed my vision. When I opened my eyes again, I was met with a face full of
worry. It was Casey’s. His expression was mixed with guilt, regret, and concern.
Concern for me? It had been a long time since I’d seen that look in his eyes.
“I know you weren’t the one driving that day.”
Of course, he knew. To stop me from competing with Hannah for the car, he had confiscated my driver’s license. Without a license, it was impossible to enter that road. So, the driver that day could not have
been me.
“But back then, you framed Hannah for sleeping with someone else and ruined her reputation, forcing her to leave the country alone. You owe her for that, but let’s write everything off here. From now on, both you and Hannah will be the younger sisters I care for. Alright?”
System: [Casey’s affection level has reached 60%. Host, would you like to restart the strategy mission? I
can help you.]
