They Put My Pregnant Daughter-In-Law On A Paternity Wheel For Fun Chapter 09

When the recording finished, total, dead silence filled the hall.

Soraya curled her arms protectively over her belly.

“We can always make another one.””

Kael’s lips trembled.

“Soraya, that was nothing but angry talk.”

“Forcing men to pin me down was angry talk.”

“Threatening to drive a needle into my womb was angry talk.”

“Your so-called angry words nearly cost two human beings their lives.”

Kael fought against the bodyguards restraining him.

“I only meant to scare you!”

“If you’d simply signed the papers none of this would’ve ever happened!”

I drove my boot hard against the back of his knee.

He crumpled heavily onto his knees right in front of Soraya.

“Listen to him,” I said coldly.

“He still blames you for refusing to surrender your shares.”

Kael frantically gestured toward Jorenna.

“I was manipulated by her!”

“She created the photos and built this whole roulette scheme!”

Jorenna burst out in bitter laughter.

“Did I hold a knife to your throat?”

“Who said Soraya had to be broken completely before she would cooperate?”

“And who said if something happened to the baby we wouldn’t have to fight for custody?”

“Shut up!” Kael lunged toward her.

Jorenna grabbed a digital voice recorder and smashed it down on the betting table.

knew you’d turn on me eventually.”

Another audio recording played for everyone present.

“Crop those photos larger, she cares deeply about her reputation.”

“With footage in hand, she’ll have no choice but to sign.”

Jorenna’s voice could be heard in the background.

“What if Elara comes back?”

Kael’s sneering reply filled the room.

“She’s too sick to even get out of her hospital bed.”

“Once we get the equity, she’ll have zero say inside Voss Global Holdings.”

When the audio cut off, Kael collapsed fully onto the floor.

Kian suddenly broke into wild, loud laughter.

“Mrs. Voss! The son you raised is no cleaner than I am!”

Metro Major Crimes Unit Officers stepped forward to arrest him.

Right before handcuffs clicked shut, Kian shoved nearby people aside. A folding knife slipped out from his coat sleeve into his grip.

He grabbed the closest person- Soraya – and pulled her tight against his chest, pressing the sharp blade against the side of her pregnant abdomen.

“Nobody move!”

The crowd screamed and scrambled backward.

I kept my eyes locked on him.

“Let her go.”

“Get me a getaway vehicle and valid passports!” he shouted.

“Unlock my Offshore Custodial Accounts!”

“If even one demand goes unmet, she and that unborn child die right here.”

“Fine.” I advanced one slow step at a time.

“Release Soraya, and I will stay here in her place.”

“Don’t come any closer!” Soraya’s face drained of all color. Her right hand crept toward the Obsidian Access Medallion tucked on her person.

Kian sneered.

“What touching surrogate-mother-daughter loyalty.”

“Elara Voss, I’m gonna make you watch your entire line die out right in front of you tonight!”

“Your grudge is against me,” I kept walking forward.

“Hurting a pregnant woman proves nothing about your strength.”

Kian’s full attention shifted onto me.

That exact moment, Soraya pressed the hidden side latch on the medallion.

Loud blaring alarms erupted.

Every heavy-duty security door within the great hall slammed shut and locked.

Kian’s head whipped around out of instinct.

Soraya stomped down with all her strength onto his instep, driving her elbow sharply backward into his ribs.

The pain made him loosen his grip.

I sprinted forward and hauled Soraya safely into my arms.

Bodyguards tackled Kian to the marble ground all at once.

The folding knife skittered several meters away across the floor.

Handcuffs snapped firmly onto his wrists.

Kian writhed and struggled against restraint.

“You’ve won this round, Elara! Voss Global Holdings is already rotten to its core!”

I steadied Soraya on her feet.

“Rotten systems get cleaned up.”

“Those who belong behind bars go to prison. The rest get cast out.”

Jorenna was placed in handcuffs as well.

As she was marched past Kael, she paused briefly.

“Without Voss Global Holdings behind you, you are absolutely nothing.”

Kael paid her no mind.

He scrambled across the floor on his knees until he reached Soraya’s feet.

“Soraya, a child shouldn’t grow up without a father.”

Soraya looked down calmly at him.

“He once had a father.”

“That father gambled him away tonight.”

She pulled off her wedding band and tossed it into the center of the Forfeiture Roulette Wheel.

“I will draft a brand-new Petition for Dissolution of Marriage.”

“You will never get access to this child or my equity shares.”

Kael’s face turned deathly pale. He twisted his head toward me.

“I’m your only biological son!”

I tossed termination paperwork, asset-recovery notices, and Criminal Complaint Filings onto the floor in front of him.

Sheets scattered, covering his knees.

“You were once.”

“Not anymore.”
