They Put My Pregnant Daughter-In-Law On A Paternity Wheel For Fun Chapter 06
Kael stared fixedly at the pointer.
“What are you even trying to do?”
“You seemed pretty entertained when Soraya was in this spot earlier,” I said.
I pulled out a chair and sat down.
“Can’t take your turn at the game?”
Jorenna forced a shaky smile.
“Elara, we’re all family. There’s no need to make this so ugly.”
Soraya shot her a cold glare.
“Where was that concern for decency when you had men holding me down for an amniocentesis?”
I gave Soraya’s ice-cold hand a gentle squeeze.
“Take back every single thing they’ve stolen from you.”
Silas stepped forward and swapped out every name circling the roulette wheel.
Kian Rainer.
Vaughan Ferris.
Kael Voss.
Jorenna Hale.
Plus the loudest, most aggressive board members who’d been jeering moments before.
A sign was set beside the mechanism.
[FORFEITURE ROULETTE]
I looked out over the crowd.
“Whoever the pointer lands on gets a full audit.”
“If we uncover crimes, you pay back stolen funds, surrender all shares, and get out of Voss Global
Holdings.”
Vaughan immediately pushed his way forward.
“Ms. Elara, this violates standard corporate procedure!”
“Where was that rulebook when you forced a pregnant woman toward a medical procedure?”
He fell completely silent.
I held the pointer out to Soraya.
“Spin it.”
Soraya gave the wheel a hard push.
It spun several fast rotations before the pointer settled on Cian Thatcher.
Silas opened a thick document envelope.
“Cian. Thirty-seven million dollars in accepted kickbacks.”
“Eighty-six million dollars in falsified procurement expenses.”
Contracts, bank records, and audio recordings populated the large screen all at once.
Cian’s legs buckled underneath him.
“All of this is fabricated!”
Harlan spoke up right away.
“Director Thatcher accepted every bribe inside the top-floor private suite.”
“I kept the surveillance footage.”
The screen cut to security footage showing Cian taking a heavy cash briefcase, promising full board
support for Kian.
Panic crashed over Cian.
“Ms. Elara, I only acted out of momentary poor judgment!”
“Kian put me up to every bit of it!”
Kian roared in anger.
“Don’t drag me into your mess!”
Cian fired back frantically.
“Vaughan supplied the accounts! He set every profit split!”
Chaos exploded through the great hall.
Some people called out fake contract evidence.
Others tossed hidden private ledgers onto tabletops.
People who’d stood united minutes prior now tore into one another to save themselves.
Soraya let out a bitter laugh.
“So Voss Global Holdings can run perfectly fine without Elara.”
“All the money just ended up lining your pockets instead.”
“ENOUGH!” Kael slammed his palm hard against the table.
“Elara, these are long-time company veterans.’
“You understand you can’t expect perfect compliance from every single person, right?”
I stared straight at him.
“They weren’t considered part of the family when Soraya was being humiliated.”
“Now these corrupt leeches are your precious allies?”
Kael jutted his chin out stubbornly.
“I’m your biological son!”
“Voss Global Holdings will belong to me someday!”
“If you fire all these people, who’s going to run the business for me?”
I nearly laughed out loud.
“You’re still thinking about inheriting the company?
Silas unrolled the official corporate document.
“Effective immediately, terminate every position held by Kael within Voss Global Holdings.”
“Revoke all gifted equity stakes. Suspend all Family Trust Fund benefit eligibility.”
“Initiate full asset liquidation for all his real estate, vehicles, and bank accounts.”
Kael’s phone buzzed non-stop with incoming notifications.
Position revoked.
Bank accounts frozen.
Villa access permissions revoked.
Real terror washed over his face.
“I’m your only son!”
“All these assets were supposed to be mine!”
“Who told you that?” I looked at him with icy detachment.
“I earned every share. I bought every property.
Even the Voss surname was given to you by me.
I spun the roulette wheel again.
It whirred and finally halted directly in front of Kael.
“You bet on Dr. Thorne earlier,” I said.
“It seems you truly have no idea who fathered Soraya’s baby.”
Kael’s eyes darted back and forth, avoiding direct contact.
“She spent time alone with Dr. Thorne. I had every reason to doubt her.”
“Fine.” I lifted one hand.
Silas set a branded clinic document envelope down on the betting table.
Kael’s face paled instantly. He lunged forward trying to grab it.
“Nobody has the right to go through my private things!”
Bodyguards forced him flat against the table surface.
I leaned down toward him.
“You claimed you had nothing to hide.’
“What are you afraid of?”
