Andre returned home like a man was utterly distraught.
The moment he pushed open the door, he saw a familiar figure moving around in the kitchen.
Was that Rachel?
It had to be her.
He knew it.
Rachel couldn’t bear to leave him.
His heart suddenly skipped a beat, and a flash of uncontrollable joy appeared in his eyes.
“Rachel? you are back?”
He practically stumbled into the kitchen.
His eyes were filled with excitement and anticipation.
But the moment he saw the person inside, he froze.
The smile on his face slowly faded away.
It wasn’t her.
Alice was wearing pajamas, calmly stirring the soup in the pot.
When she saw him return, she immediately revealed a sweet smile.
“Andre, you are back?”
All of his expectations vanished in an instant.
Andre’s expression turned cold.
“Didn’t you already leave?”
He remembered clearly that he had personally escorted Alice onto the plane.
“I came back.”
Alice placed the spoon down and walked closer.
Her slender fingers brushed against his chest.
“Andre, I couldn’t bear to leave you… I want to be with you.”
“This time, I’m not leaving.”
She lifted her head, her eyes filled with certainty and determination.
“Let’s get married.‘
Andre looked at her as if he had just heard a joke.
He pushed her away.
“Get married?”
Alice, who do you think you are?”
Alice’s expression stiffened.
“What do you mean?”
“It means the person I want to remarry is Rachel, not you.
Andre’s voice was cold as ice.
“Impossible!”
Alice screamed.
“Andre, you abandoned Rachel for me so many times. What are you pretending for now? Acting like you stik love her?”
A flash of embarrassment crossed Andre’s eyes.
But it quickly turned into an even deeper coldness.
“I divorced her only to protect your reputation. It was never because I loved you.
“If you hadn’t kept coming back and interfering all these years, Rachel would never have left!”
Alice suddenly laughed.
Her laughter was sharp and piercing.
“Andre, are you done pretending?”
She stepped closer, one step at a time.
“Who was the one who held me and kissed me?”
“Who was the one who came running to me every single time he divorced her?”
“Do you really think you can fool yourself?”
“You clearly love me!”
Andre suddenly grabbed her wrist.
His grip was so strong it was almost enough to crush her bones.
“Shut up!”
“Did I hit a nerve?”
Alice endured the pain, her eyes filled with resentment.
“Now that Rachel couldn’t stand your hypocrisy anymore and left, you suddenly want to pretend you are devoted to her?”
“You deserve this!”
She screamed hysterically.
“You deserve to spend your entire life never finding her!”
Andre’s eyes were filled with anger..
The next second, he raised his hand and slapped her hard.
The crisp sound of the slap echoed through the empty mansion.
Alice staggered back several steps, covering her face in disbelief.
“You hit me?”
“I told you.”
Andre’s voice was terrifyingly cold.
“If you hadn’t provoked Rachel again and again, she would never have left.”
“Now, leave the country immediately.”
He took out his phone and called his men.
“Come here at once. Send Alice back to where she belongs.”
Alice panicked completely.
“You can’t do this to me, Andre! I love you so much…”
The only response she received was the cold sound of the front door opening
Two men dressed in black grabbed her and dragged her outside.
Alice’s screams faded into the night.
Andre stood where he was, staring at the now silent house.
Slowly, he crouched down.
For the first time, he realized that without Rachel, this house was unbearably empty.
However, the person he once had would never return.
