I Saw My Alpha Mate’s Betrayal, So I Changed Fate Chapter 05
The entire venue falls into complete silence.
I look at Landon, “You’re my mate…”
He nods.
My parents, who have just arrived, immediately start shouting at me when they see this.
“Harper, have you lost your mind?”
“You’re getting married in a few days, and now you’re bringing home some strange man?”
“Quinn, shut up!”
Nolan snaps furiously.
“That’s the Alpha King. Our King!”
My parents freeze instantly, as if they’ve just heard something unbelievable. They quickly lower
their heads.
Marcus stands a short distance away, his face turning pale and then red, his expression completely
blank.
How is this possible?
“Harper, you cheated on me?”
Nolan doesn’t dare confront Landon directly, so he can only grit his teeth and lower his voice,
directing all his anger at me.
“It’s only been a few days. How did you manage to get our King to become your mate? What did you
do?”
“You couldn’t even find your mate before, and now you’re wearing a wedding gown I never picked for you!”
“Alpha Nolan.”
Landon looks at him coldly.
“You should stay away from my mate, your future Luna Queen.”
“And as for cheating…”
His gaze sweeps over Nolan, his voice icy and devoid of warmth.
“Are you really in a position to use that word?”
“Your bride and your mate is standing right behind you. She looks like she’s about to cry.”
Nolan stiffens.
He turns to look at Abigail, whose eyes are filled with tears.
“It’s only a ceremony. I never meant anything by it.”
He turns back to me, anger filling his eyes.
“Harper, you know how I feel about you…”
“I do.”
I look at him calmly, “Your feelings are disgusting enough to make me sick.”
“The mark you left on my neck? I should have had it removed a long time ago.”
Nolan’s pupils contract sharply, and he freezes as if someone has nailed him to the spot.
He hurriedly steps forward and blocks my path, lowering his voice again.
“Even if you’re angry, you can’t joke about something this serious!”
“How could you marry some man you barely know? He’s our King. He’ll only use you…”
“Alpha Nolan.”
Landon cuts him off calmly, “Congratulations. You are no longer the Alpha of this pack.”
Nolan looks at him in disbelief, as if struck by lightning.
“Three days ago, Harper reported to my Beta that you had marked her, yet planned to hold a Bonding Ceremony with another she-wolf.”
“You intended to keep two mates for yourself.”
“That violates the Moon Goddess’s laws and the laws of the werewolf realm.”
“But Abigail is my fated mate!” Nolan hurriedly explains.
“Harper is MY fated mate too.”
Landon raises our intertwined hands, his gaze turning cold.
“But you don’t get to mark a chosen mate, then keep your fated mate as a mistress and call her your
Luna.”
“From this moment on, you and Harper have nothing to do with each other.”
“No!”
Two voices ring out at the same time.
One belongs to Nolan.
The other comes from my parents.
“Your Majesty, I apologize for my ignorance. I didn’t realize who you were.”
Dad quickly steps forward and bows obsequiously.
“I never imagined my daughter would be your mate. What an honor!”
“But when it comes to our daughter’s marriage, surely we shouldn’t rush into anything.”
“Why don’t we go inside the packhouse and discuss it before the Bonding Ceremony?”
There isn’t a trace of warmth in his or Mom’s eyes, only undisguised greed.
It’s as if I’m nothing more than a commodity.
Now that they’ve found a buyer willing to pay a much higher price, they’re already eager to count their winnings.
Landon quickly notices my hand trembling.
He doesn’t say anything. He simply tightens his grip on my hand before looking at my parents.
“Is that so?”
“Then you should know one thing.”
“You’re no longer Harper’s parents.”
“The severance papers will be delivered shortly. After that, you will never have to appear before her again.”
“So this marriage is Harper’s decision alone.”
“It has nothing to do with you.”
Landon pulls me around and walks away.
A team of royal warriors immediately steps forward, surrounding us and shielding us from
everyone else.
“No! Harper, you ungrateful girl, come back!”
My parents shout desperately behind us, their cries quickly turning into curses.
Marcus rushes forward and pounds on the car window.
“Harper, we can talk this out!”
His eyes are bloodshot.
“We’re your family. Are you really going to abandon us like this?”
I sit in the back seat, staring straight ahead without giving him a single glance.
“Drive. Back to the royal castle.”
Landon sits beside me and takes my hand.
“My private jet is waiting there. We can leave as soon as you’re ready.”
I nod and lean back against the seat.
“Harper!”
Nolan’s anguished cry comes from behind us.
He runs back toward the wedding car, disheveled and furious, then shouts at Marcus.
“Follow that car. Now!”
“Nolan!”.
Abigail is crying her eyes out.
“What about me?”
“You promised you’d make my wish come true!”
She stares at Nolan, then somehow pulls out a silver knife and presses it against her throat.
“I know you all hate me. You’d all be happier if I were dead.”
“So I’ll die!”
She raises her hand like she’s about to plunge the knife in, and everyone around her immediately rushes forward, shouting and trying to stop her.
“Nolan, please help Abigail! She can’t die!”
Mom grabs onto him, sobbing hysterically.
“Besides, you signed a bond-sealing deal with Harper, and you marked her. She can’t just leave
“That bond-sealing deal was fake.”
The last glimmer of light in Nolan’s eyes completely disappears.-
“And I never truly marked her.”
“What?!”
