My Cheating Girlfriend Chapter 05

My Cheating Girlfriend Chapter 05

Author: Cherry Duck
The officiant hinted again and again for Jenna to speak, but she stood there pale-faced, staring at the video the courier had shown her.
Her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the stage, yet she still clutched the card tightly and was unwilling to let go.

The guests below sensed something was wrong. Murmurs and whispers spread through the room.

Henry couldn’t keep up appearances anymore. He walked over and tried to pull Jenna up. His voice filled with irritation.

“What’s wrong with you? You have to finish this wedding with me today, no matter what.”

As if realizing something, Henry glanced guiltily at the bouquet in her hands and reached out, trying to snatch it away and toss it aside.

But the moment his hand moved, Jenna slapped it away hard. She even shoved him.

After catching the guilty look in his eyes in that split second, she demanded viciously, “Didn’t I warn you?! I told you not to say anything to him! Are you out of your mind?”

Her voice was so loud that it carried through the microphone, echoing across the entire venue.

Seeing the wedding spiral into a mess, Henry grabbed the bouquet and slammed it onto the ground.

“Yes, I told him on purpose! So what? Jenna, let me make this clear. You don’t get to have everything. Do you have any idea how devastated your boyfriend was? He knew everything, but he didn’t dare fight for a single thing. Who do you think caused that? Stop pretending you’re so devoted. It’s disgusting!”

Jenna said nothing. She just stared at the bouquet.

When it hit the ground, something rolled out. It was a crystal snow globe. It shattered before she could fully see it, but the miniature scene inside was unmistakable.

It was identical to the wedding venue they were standing in now.

For reasons she couldn’t explain, she suddenly remembered Chris standing there with hopeful eyes, gesturing as he talked about his designs.

She was the one who lost their love.

The wedding never happened. Sitting across from my friend later, watching him gesture animatedly as he vented, I couldn’t help but feel helpless.

“You have no idea how satisfying it was watching that mess. Jenna has no shame! After canceling the wedding, she actually demanded that you forgive her. Does she think the world revolves around her just because she’s rich?”

The more he spoke, the angrier he got. He even slammed his hand on the table.

I quickly patted his shoulder and said calmly, “Alright. I’m in Hailborough City now. I have nothing to do with them anymore. Things are moving in a better direction, aren’t they?”

“But what she did was unforgivable! I had no idea she’d treat you like that. How could she?”

I drifted for a moment.

After I arrived in Hailborough City, my boss more or less understood what had happened. Worried I’d be too upset, he kept me busy with assignments.

Most days were filled with designing clothes and searching for inspiration. But whenever I slowed down, the same question surfaced. Why did Jenna do this?

I kept thinking about it, and only recently did I begin to understand.

Jenna wanted everything.

She wanted Henry, who could push her career even higher. She also wanted me, the one who would walk beside her, steady and devoted.

In the end, she was too confident, and she crashed.

Coming back to my senses, I looked at my friend’s uneasy expression and said seriously,

“She just loved herself more.”

Perhaps, she was convinced I would never leave her.

My friend hesitated and glanced behind me. Confused, I followed her gaze and saw Jenna standing there.

The moment our eyes met, her face lit up.

She hurried forward and explained, “No, that’s not it! I love you the most. What I had with Henry was just for show. We agreed that we’d divorce after three years. I had everything planned out.”

“Then why didn’t you tell me?”

The calm I had barely managed to regain after a week in Hailborough City surged violently again.

No one could watch their partner marry someone else and be told it was just for show.

What a painfully clumsy excuse!
