My Roommate Fattened Me Up To Steal My Billionaire Fiancé Chapter 08
The three months passed in a blur.
When I finally walked out of the residential program, brilliant sunlight washed over me. I felt. almost weightless, as though I had stepped into an entirely different life.
A carefully managed diet and relentless physical training had helped my body recover from the steroid-induced fluid retention and hormonal disruption.
In three months, I had lost nearly sixty pounds.
I had gone from 204 pounds and getting winded after only a few steps to a strong, healthy 145.
Months of exercise had left my body looking stronger and more balanced than it had even six months earlier at 121 pounds. My skin was firm, my abs were clearly defined, and the features that had once been buried beneath the weight were visible again. My eyes looked bright and expressive, and my jawline was clean and sculpted.
I changed into a simple white square-neck dress and a pair of slim-heeled sandals. My long dark hair fell in soft waves, giving me an air of youthful, understated elegance.
Today marked the end of our three-month wait.
It was finally the day Reid and I would meet in person.
We had chosen the same fine-dining restaurant from my previous life, with a table beside the
windows.
The moment I pushed through the revolving door, Reid looked up sharply from his watch, almost as
if he had sensed me enter.
The man who rose to meet me stood six foot two in a perfectly tailored black suit.
The instant our eyes met, Reid’s pupils widened, and the cool, composed expression I had seen so often in business-news coverage fell away.

Stunned admiration flashed through his dark eyes, followed by sheer, unrestrained joy.
Before the host could approach, Reid crossed the restaurant in long strides, a trace of clean, woody cologne following him.
As the other diners turned to stare, he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a fierce,
almost desperate embrace that was somehow still impossibly tender.
He held me so tightly it felt as though he were trying to pull me into him.
“Nora…”
His breath was unsteady against my ear, and his voice was rough with relief.
“I finally have you in my arms. My… soulmate.”
I buried my face against the warmth of his neck and breathed him in. All the pain and humiliation from my previous life finally melted away.
Smiling, I wrapped my arms around him.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, Mr. Whitaker.”
Still holding hands, we sat down together as sunlight poured through the windows.
Just then, Reid’s phone buzzed.
He glanced at the screen, and a flicker of derision crossed his eyes before he turned the phone
toward me.
A breaking story had just started trending locally on X.
