When My Twin Sister Stole My Mate Chapter 09

When My Twin Sister Stole My Mate Chapter 09

lian looked at me for a very, very long time.

It was the first time I had ever seen utter, absolute devastation in those usually cold, proud, and eternally composed Alpha eyes.

“No,” his Adam’s apple bobbed, his voice frightfully hoarse. “Videos can be forged. There is no way Daisy would conspire with a witch to do something like this.”

“Then hand it over to the forensics elders of the Moon Temple and let them match the traces of dark magic.”

I put my device away. “The truth is out there. Find it yourself.”

I turned to my mother and the old Pack guards behind her.

“Now, take your people and get off my property.”

My mother grabbed my wrist tightly.

“Freya, I was truly wrong.”

Her tone cracked completely, stripping away all the arrogant posturing she usually flaunted in the Pack.

“I shouldn’t have blindly favored your sister. I was deceived by the illusion of her weakness too.”

“But the family clothing company absolutely cannot go bankrupt. That penalty fee will ruin us. Our territory, factories, and the Alpha’s protection will all vanish into thin air.”

Tears rolled down her jawline.

“Save this family. I am begging you.”

I looked down at her from above.

This mother who gave me life, this woman who taught me how to cut my first piece of fabric, only to cruelly strip me of the right to put my name on any of my designs.

Not a single sense of vindication rose in my heart. All that remained was endless exhaustion.

“Mom,” I said, “This is the last time I will ever call you that.”

“I dedicated my youth and my talent to the family’s interests.”

“But you refused to put in the hard work. You were so obsessed with making Daisy look like a flawless genius that you used me as a tool to pave her way.”

“The Alpha’s favor, the astronomical orders, all the applause and glory, you leeched all of it dry.”

Coldly, I peeled her fingers off my arm, one by one.

“Now, please face the consequences of your own actions.”

My mother’s hands hung limply in the air, completely paralyzed.

Killian stood beside her, unable to speak a single word.

I turned back to the studio and dropped the latch on the door.

Outside, my mother’s wails grew louder and louder. Killian remained as silent as a stone.

e next day, they left Nova City.

The investors of the werewolf fashion association had completely lost their patience.

The family company failed to deliver the velvet gown. Breach of contract notices and legal letters piled up, and the scandal of Daisy faking wolfsbane poisoning and stealing designs exploded across the werewolf gossip sites.

My mother even tried to smear my name online.

But the legal documents I had prepared long ago, my original sketches that still held my scent, and the timestamps on every single pattern smashed her lies into pieces.

The family’s reputation became a laughingstock overnight.

I watched the rest of the messy fallout unfold on the werewolf internal network.

Daisy tried to run away with the last bit of cash in the company’s account and flee to the Rogue territories in the North.

She didn’t make it.

Killian’s enforcers and the border patrol wolves pinned her to the ground right at the crossing point.

Faking an illness for sympathy, using a witch’s dark magic, stealing her own sister’s work, and committing investment fraud… all her dirty laundry was laid bare.

Outside the Alpha Council’s judgment hall, Daisy was stripped of her rank. She was forced to liquidate everything she owned to pay the astronomical penalty fees and fines just to barely avoid prison. As she was permanently banished and exiled from the Pack, she screamed at Killian at the top of her lungs.

“Do you think you’re so high and mighty?”

“You enjoyed Freya’s absolute obedience, yet you also craved my submission and dependence on you.”

“You just wanted to lock both of us women in your cage!”

“Now you have nothing left. You deserve this!”

In the leaked news photos, Killian stood at the bottom of the steps wearing a dark trench coat, his face deathly pale. There were no Pack guards by his side. Nor was there the fake innocent victim he had fought so hard to protect.

The Pack he led did not perish because of this.

But the elders of the Alpha Council would never revere him the way they used to.

An Alpha who could be played for a fool by a few vials of fake poison on his own mating day had long since lost his supreme authority.

He tried to transfer the deed of that Alpha estate, the one meant to be our bridal home, to my name. I refused to accept it.

My lawyer returned the property documents without even looking at them.

After that, Killian came to Nova City many more times.

Every time, the studio’s security guards stopped him outside the courtyard wall.

He didn’t force his way in. He didn’t throw around his Alpha title to pressure anyone.

just stood across the street like a wooden post, foolishly watching the studio lights turn on, and watching them turn off.

I never went out to see him, not even once.

Half a year later, the first snow fell.

One of my haute couture gowns won the gold award at a joint design exhibition hosted by humans and werewolves.

That day, the exhibition hall was packed with celebrities and elites from all circles.

I stood by the main display, listening to the curator explain my masterpiece to the public.

The velvet fabric, weaving together deep black, cold silver, and rich burgundy, cascaded down like a waterfall. Its subtle patterns resembled the tracks of a wolf pack in a dark forest, a fearless rebirth after shattering old rules.

The crystal plaque clearly bore the name: Freya.

This was a name that belonged to me and me alone.

Across the crowd, I saw Killian.

He was wearing a wrinkled shirt. His hair was a mess, and that Alpha spine that had always been perfectly straight was now slightly hunched.

He stood in front of my display, staring intently at the plaque that did not bear his last name.

After a long while, he turned around.

Across the noisy hall, our eyes met.

“Freya.”

His lips moved slightly, his voice so quiet it was almost swallowed by the air.

I didn’t walk over, but I didn’t look away either.

This time, Killian was the first to look away in defeat.
