Lost Princess of the Original Bloodline Returns Chapter 08

Lost Princess of the Original Bloodline Returns Chapter 08

Luca’s POV

Within a month, the Original family cut off the Thorne family’s biotech companies.

We were starving. Our blood reserves ran dry.

I was a walking skeleton. My magic was completely drained. I looked centuries older. My old wound made me cough up black blood every single day.

Every night, I hid in the narrow, dark crypt in the north wing. I hugged Elara’s old canvas bag until dawn.

Tonight, I took Mia to the neutral zone.

I booked the entire luxurious Scarlet Palace. I tried to beg the Nightshades for peace.

“Luca, are you sure this will work?” Mia grabbed my sleeve nervously. “Maybe we should just leave Onyx City.”

I shook off her hand. “Shut up. Just keep your mouth shut tonight and don’t mess this up.”

The palace was brightly lit.

All the prominent vampire families were here.

I could feel their mocking stares right on me.

At midnight, all the candles in the hall suddenly went out.

Heavy shadows poured in from everywhere. A suffocating pureblood aura instantly covered the whole palace.

At the top of the stairs, a tall, slender figure slowly appeared.

She wore a gown spun by dark witches. Black diamonds covered the dark fabric. Each stone glowed with deadly light.

She took Gabriel’s hand and walked gracefully down the spiral staircase,

That face. Those eyes.

Elara.

But she was not the humble, needy woman I remembered.

Now, she was noble and cold. She radiated the overwhelming power of a pureblood heir.

Every step she took was deadly and elegant, as if she was trampling on everyone’s pride.

Gabriel’s voice echoed through the hall: “Everyone, allow me to introduce the lost pureblood heir, Elara Nightshade.”

I pushed through the crowd like a madman. I rushed to the stairs.

I screamed her name wildly.

“Elara! Elara! Look at me!”

But I couldn’t even touch the hem of her dress. Two elite shadow guards pinned me to the cold marble floor with invisible magic.

“Elara, please look at me.” I kneeled on the floor, begging in despair. “I know I was wrong. I was arrogant. I was stupid! Please forgive me. I can give everything back to you.”

She stopped. Those eyes that had cried so many tears for me were now as dead as stagnant water.

She looked down at me like I was a bug.

“I don’t know you.” Her voice was ice-cold.

Gabriel walked down the stairs.

He didn’t even lift a finger. He just released a blast of pureblood aura. It slammed hard into the silver wound on my chest.

I flew back several feet. Black blood poured from my mouth.

“So you are the animal who dared to hurt my sister.” Hellfire burned in Gabriel’s eyes.

I lay on the floor. My chest felt ripped apart. But my eyes were glued to Elara.

She stood on the stairs. Beautiful like a goddess of vengeance.

I finally realized what I lost. I lost my life, my salvation, my whole reason for living.

Gabriel pulled out an ornate gun loaded with pure silver bullets. He pressed it to my forehead. “Tonight, the Nightshade family is going to settle the score with you. Drop by drop.”
