I did not know why she was so furious.
I knew that my mother was happy.
Before she left, she witnessed my entire wedding while she sat on a wheelchair.

When she left, she had been smiling.

Lily froze when she saw how cold I was.

Maddy walked over after hearing the slight commotion. She grabbed my arm.

She was waiting for my answer.

The two words drew a clear line between us.
Lily smashed something and started to question me.
“Ben, we’ve been together for eight years. Is this how you’re going to treat me?
“How long have you known her? Why did you marry her?
“What am I to you? Answer me!”
She teared up and kept scolding me.
It was as if I was the one who had given up on this relationship.
It was as if she had done nothing wrong to hurt me, and I had abandoned her for another woman.

“I give my blessings to you and David. Please give me the blessings I deserve too.”
The twisted relationship had made me forget how to be a normal person.
I wanted to be happy and live an easy life.
