My Ghost Haunted My Husband for 7 Years Chapter 08

My Ghost Haunted My Husband for 7 Years Chapter 08

The call ended.

Tyler sat in the dark, his face was pale, lit by the phone screen.

He didn’t believe it. He couldn’t believe Louisa was just gone like that.

The next day, Tyler brought the psychic to the estate.

The psychic circled the property once, then shook his head. “Mr. Harrison, there’s no trace of her

here anymore.”

“Where was her last location?”

“The bedroom.”

The psychic walked into the bedroom, made another round, then pointed at the headboard.

“This is where she dissipated. Her form turned transparent from the feet, fading slowly upward,

until she was completely gone.”

Tyler stood in the doorway, frozen solid.

That night, he’d slept in that bed.

She’d been right next to him, fading away.

But he’d been sound asleep and he didn’t know a thing.

“Is there a way…” Tyler’s voice cracked. “Is there any way to bring her back?”

The psychic looked at him, his gaze complicated. “Mr. Harrison, where were you before now?”

“She haunted you for seven years. You found her annoying, thought she was bad luck, couldn’t wait

for her to disappear.”

“Now that she’s truly gone, you want me to bring her back?”

“The living and the dead walk different paths. Some things, once missed, are just missed.”

Tyler said nothing. His fists were clenched so tight his nails dug into his palms. He didn’t even notice the blood seeping out.

As the psychic left, he left one last remark. “If she had any unfinished wishes, or if you still hold any of her belongings, maybe that could keep a fragment alive. But she has gone forever, Mr. Harrison.

Don’t hold your breath.”

After the psychic left, Tyler locked himself in the home office.

From the safe, he pulled out everything he’d never bothered to look at before and laid them out one

by one across the floor.

On the title page of every one of her old books sat her signature – small and delicate.

The design sketches she drew were all for jewelry, rendered with crisp, neat lines.

Those two faded ultrasound slips belonged to their children.

Tyler picked up the reports, his fingers tracing the blurry images.

She lost their first child when she was three months pregnant.

That day, he’d brought her to a business dinner. The clients kept pushing drinks on her, but he

didn’t stop them. Said, “Just a little won’t hurt, she’s not that fragile.”

That night, she started bleeding.

By the time they got her to the hospital, the baby was gone.

What had his reaction been back then?

Something like “It’s fine, we’re still young. There’ll be more.”

Then he took a call and went to the office.

He hadn’t even stayed with her.

She was two months pregnant with their second child. She never got the chance to tell him, and the

baby left alongside her.

Tyler closed his eyes, tears dripping onto the ultrasound sheet, spreading into dark little stains.

He used to think Louisa had married above her station. That she’d gotten the better end of the deal.

He gave her the Mrs. Harrison title, gave her money that she could never spend all of, and gave the

Carters a shot at revival.

She should’ve been grateful. Should’ve known her place. Stayed quiet behind him, not caused

trouble, not pried into his business.

But he’d forgotten that she’d been raised as a Carter heiress too. She had her own pride. Her own

dreams.

She could’ve gone abroad to the best design school. Could’ve become a brilliant jewelry designer.

Instead, she gave up her offer letter and gave up her education, willingly became Mrs. Harrison før

him.

And him?

He took her family contributions for their wedding and the Carter family’s shares. He pushed Harrison Corp. to the top of the industry.

Then turned around and told someone else that Edith would be Mrs. Harrison soon enough.

Tyler Harrison, you’re a piece of work.

He sat in the study all night.

At dawn, he picked up his phone and called Daniel.

“Investigate something for me.” His voice was wrecked. “I need every detail about Louisa’s car crash on October seventh seven years ago.”

“Every detail you can find.”
