The Wife Who Rode Her Black Panther Husband Daily Didn’t Know His Child Was A Leopard Chapter 02

Kael shifted back into his human form.

He lloomed over me, his gaze darkening.

“What’s wrong?”

I avoided his eyes. “Nothing. Go do whatever you need to.”

Kael frowned, annoyed at my sudden change of heart—just like the comments had said.

But he didn’t bother saying much.

“Suit yourself.”

“I’ll go check on Zara and Mia. They’re supposed to shift soon; I need to keep an eye on them—”

I darted in front of the stairs.

“No! They’re going to bed. They played too hard today and are tired.”

“I’ll read them a bedtime story.”

“Don’t. You’ve had a long day. I’ll go.”

His gaze slowly drifted back to my face, sharp and dark.

I shrank under his stare.

I forced a gentle tone.

“Your friends invited you to the luxury lounge, remember? Go.”

“You’re married, but you still need a social life. Don’t just hang around me and the kids after work.”

He frowned. “You sure?”

I nodded hard, trying to look sincere.

“Fine.”

He let out a cold laugh.

He grabbed his coat and turned to leave.

Comments:

[Lol, playing hard to get? Too bad the male lead doesn’t care at all.]

[The male lead is a good dad. He’s gone numb putting up with the side character for the kids.]

[Only the heroine can make him feel happy, angry, sad, or glad—make him feel alive. Nothing the side character does works.]

[Haha, the side character’s tantrum just made the male lead meet the heroine early!]

I realized I’d pushed him closer to another woman.

My chest tightened.

I almost called Kael back and yelled at him to stay ten feet away from other girls.

But I bit my tongue and held it in.

I watched through the floor-to-ceiling window as Kael drove away.

My heart ached with every beat.

We’d been married for over four years. No matter how much I acted out, I couldn’t make him feel a thing.

That was why I’d gotten worse and worse, trying to crack through his cold, empty calm.

I went up to the second floor.

I’d just opened the door.

When a small leopard launched into my arms, spotted tail flicking wildly.

“Mommy, I’m sick!”

“My tail is the wrong color! It has little spots all over it…”

“It doesn’t look like Daddy’s at all. Am I gonna die, Mommy?”

Mia, who hadn’t shifted yet, ran over on tiny feet and clung to my leg.

I stared wide-eyed.

I gaped at both my daughters.

They had Kael’s eyes and mouth, like they were copied from him.

I couldn’t understand it.

How could the kids not be Kael’s?

How could they be leopards?

I was a Rabbit Shifter. Every one of Kael’s ancestors for eighteen generations was a pure black panther.

There was no way we could have a leopard kid.
