They Waited for My Sister to Wake, So I Called Off My Wedding Chapter 06

Adrian didn’t answer, so she kept talking.

“Elara really went too far. She made the decision to abort the baby on her own. She says she loves you, but

she doesn’t respect you at all.”

“I’m the one who wronged Elara.”

Adrian’s voice wasn’t loud, but his tone left no room for argument. It made Iris stumble.

Adrian didn’t reach out to steady her.

Iris’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Adrian… are you so angry you’ve lost your mind? Why are you taking her

side?”

Seeing Adrian’s coldness, Iris changed the subject.

She wrapped her arm around Adrian’s and yawned.

“Adrian, I’m sleepy. Don’t stand here. Let me lean on you and sleep for a while.”

She leaned toward Adrian.

This time, he didn’t agree. He pulled his arm back without mercy.

His eyes locked on Iris. For the first time, he was impatient with her.

He also felt disgusted with himself. He’d numbed his attraction to Iris into an excessive protectiveness.

“The seat back can be adjusted. Why do you have to lean on me?”

The moment he said it, Iris’s tears fell.

“Adrian, why are you suddenly like this? Did Elara do something to smear me?”

That completely enraged Adrian.

He posted a public statement on his social media. [Adrian Shaw has only one wife. Her name is Elara Shaw]

Because of the wedding–day incident, Adrian’s social media had gained millions of followers.

The post immediately caused an uproar.

In the few steps back to her seat, Iris was stared at by countless passengers.

Adrian, who had chosen to reveal everything, was also pointed at and whispered about.

Three days later, the train finally stopped in New York City.

Iris grabbed Adrian’s hand, refusing to let him leave. She looked at him pitifully.

“Adrian, you promised to take me…”

Before she finished, Adrian shook her off. The crowd separated them. Iris stood where she was, not knowing where to go. Then her company called.

“Iris, you’ve seriously damaged the company’s image. We’re informing you that you’re fired.”

Adrian found out which city Elara had gone to. But the weather was bad. He couldn’t fly there directly. With

transfers, it would take three or four days.

Since graduating, Adrian had spent three years becoming a company partner.

For the first time, he felt powerless. For the first time in this relationship, he felt powerless.

Adrian felt like he could never hold Elara’s hand again.
