The Fireworks Weren’t for Me, the Baby Wasn’t Mine Chapter 05

Harrison laughed out of pure anger.

“And if I make you?”

“Go ahead and try,” I said.

“Martha!” he suddenly raised his voice. “Bring all of Leo’s medication here!”

“Don’t you dare!” I reached out to block him.

Martha didn’t dare resist and brought out the neatly arranged specialty medications.

This box was not just worth a fortune.

It was something that required months of prior appointments with medical institutions to obtain.

I had timed this supply perfectly; it was exactly enough to last until the next pickup, and not a single box could be spared.

“Someone, hold her back!”

Two housekeepers rushed over and held me in a tight grip.

Harrison pulled a box from the stash, threw it on the floor, and crushed it under his foot.

“Harrison Sterling! Don’t touch Leo’s medicine!”

“I’ll kill you!!”

I struggled desperately, screaming until my voice was hoarse.

Harrison didn’t stop.

“Thought you were so tough? Keep going.”

I bit down hard on the housekeeper’s arm.

Taking advantage of her pain, I broke free and lunged for the medicine under Harrison’s foot.

He was momentarily stunned.

In the chaos, he accidentally stepped on the back of my hand, and there was a sickening crack of bone.

I actually felt a wave of relief, grateful that the foot had crushed me instead of Leo’s medicine.

Pride, dignity, and stubbornness all vanished in the wake of Harrison’s cruelty.

“I’ll apologize.”

“Your hand…” Harrison tried to pull me up.

I dodged his touch and didn’t even look at him.

I looked directly at Scarlett Brooks and said, “I’m sorry.”

“I shouldn’t have insulted you last night. It was my fault.”

Harrison was dissatisfied with my reaction.

He slowly retracted his hand and looked down at me. “You’re still not submissive, are you?”

“You’ll still try to hurt Scarlett.”

Scarlett was clutching a pillow, curled into a corner of the sofa, still looking terrified of me.

She sniffled and whispered, “Then… you, you stay on your knees…”

“Until I forgive you…”
