The Wrong Baby Chapter 07

The Wrong Baby Chapter 07

Damien’s entire family went deathly pale.

Damien lunged forward in disbelief and pinched my son’s cheek hard.

“How are you here? How are you not dead?”

Nico’s tiny face crumpled, and he burst into loud sobs.

My father was so furious that he kicked Damien to the ground.

“Who the hell do you think you are? How dare you touch my grandson!”

Damien fell to the floor, dazed. He kept shaking his head.

“How is this possible? I saw it with my own eyes. The pup was wrapped in Nico’s blanket…”

Suddenly, his pupils shrank.

Gritting his teeth, he charged toward me.

“Selene! Did you already know that wasn’t Nico? Why didn’t you say anything?”

I clenched my fist and punched him hard in the face. My knuckles split.

“So what if it wasn’t Nico? That was still a life!”

Damien clutched his eye socket, panic filling his gaze.

“If it wasn’t Nico, then who was it? Who was it…”

All at once, his eyes locked on Seraphine.

“Could it be Marcus?”

Seraphine shook her head frantically.

“No. It can’t be my Marcus. My mate took him out for a walk!”

“It can’t be my Marcus!”

That was what she said, but she still fumbled for her phone in a panic, trying to make a call.

Her hands were shaking so badly that she dropped it straight to the floor.

I pulled my lips into a cold smile.

“When you threw that pup into the cellar, why didn’t you check who he was?”

Damien’s entire family fell silent at the same time.

The pup had been in such terrible condition that none of them had dared to look closely.

They had only seen Nico’s blanket wrapped around him and assumed he was my son.

Damien quickly moved to support Seraphine, then turned and snapped at me.

“Why are you still provoking her at a time like this?

“I really regret mating you. You’ve done nothing but turn this pack upside down every single day!”

I slapped him across the face.

“You think you have the right to say that to me? Since you care about your sister-in-law so much, why don’t you spend the rest of your life with her?”

Damien’s hand trembled. He gritted his teeth and snarled, “You crazy woman. Hurry up and get the pup out so we can see who it is!”

Seraphine broke down sobbing.

“It can’t be my son, right? He’s not even three months old yet!”

I thought of my son in my last life.

He had been just as tiny when he died.

Before the enforcers could retrieve the pup, Damien’s older brother, Marcus, came home reeking of whiskey.

Seraphine rushed over, hitting him as she cried.

“Where is our son? I told you to take care of our son! Where is he?”

Marcus shoved her away impatiently and let out a drunken burp.

“Isn’t he in the longhouse? I just went out for a drink. Did you really have to call the enforcers?”

Seraphine’s entire body went limp.

She collapsed straight to the ground.

It really was her son.

She had thrown her own son into the cellar with her own hands.
