Last Life, She Laughed While I Died. This Life, She’ll Cry While I Watch Chapter 07

Two days later, I went back to school to pack my things.

The moment I entered the dorm, Zoe and Hailey hurried over with ingratiating smiles.

“Savvy, you’re back. Do you have a lot to pack? Need any help?”

I shot them an icy look and said nothing.

The two of them shrank awkwardly into the corner, too scared to make another sound.

I opened my closet and searched through it. My face fell at once.

The sapphire necklace my mother had given me for my eighteenth birthday, a seven-figure piece, was gone. Several designer clothes and pieces of jewelry had disappeared too.

I turned and stared at Zoe and Hailey.

“Talk. Who touched my things?”

Zoe hurriedly waved her hands.

“I didn’t take anything. That day, I saw Mandy secretly going through your closet.”

Hailey nodded right away.

“Yes, yes, I saw it too. It had to be her.

I clenched my fists, rage tightening my chest, and gritted my teeth as I called the police.

After hearing what happened, the officer sounded a little helpless.

“There are no cameras inside the dorm room, so for now, we can’t directly prove Mandy took the

items. But we’ll look into her. Try not to panic.”

“Also, we’ve officially opened the case regarding her false accusations against you.”

She’ll likely face a few months and be ordered to pay damages for emotional distress. The exact outcome will depend on the hearing next week.”

After hanging up, I shook my head.

Mandy really never learned.

Not long after I got home, Zoe sent me a message.

(Savvy, have you seen Mandy’s livestream? She’s causing drama again.)

I had no interest in dealing with it, but when I opened the screenshot Zoe sent, I saw Mandy wearing

my stolen designer coat. Behind her was a luxury mansion.

Still, I couldn’t resist tapping into the livestream.

The comments were flooding the screen.

[She’s such a gorgeous rich girl!]

[That rich-girl aura is unreal.]

I frowned as I kept watching.

Mandy spoke in an affected, refined tone. “This coat? I just picked it up on a whim. It was only a few

hundred grand.”

I was so angry I almost laughed.

My fingers flew across the screen as I sent a comment.

[Return the coat immediately. Stop embarrassing yourself.]

The second my comment went through, the livestream exploded. Private messages flooded in,

cursing me.

[Who are you? Jealous because our girl is rich?]

Then Mandy sent me a private message too, clearly trying to provoke me.

[Savannah Shaw, I have hundreds of thousands of followers now. Being jealous won’t help you.]

I scoffed and replied.

[I already reported you for stealing my things. The total value is several million. Enjoy prison.)

She paused for a few seconds before replying.

[They’re just a few old clothes and cheap pieces of jewelry. Where are you getting several million from? Are you that desperate for money? Now you’re trying to scam me?]

I was about to send her the receipt for the sapphire necklace, but she beat me to it and blocked me.

I was furious. I took screenshots of the livestream page and of her wearing my coat, then went straight to the police station.

The officers took one look at the screenshots and took me with them to find Mandy without another

word.

When we arrived at the mansion from her livestream, a woman answered the door and frowned,

“Who are you looking for?”

The officer showed his badge.

“Mandy Taylor.”

The woman froze for a moment, then turned and called inside, “Mandy, someone’s here for you.

Mandy came out slowly in my coat. The second she saw me, her face went white.

I scoffed and pointed at her.

“That coat looks familiar.”

She still tried to argue.

“Th-this is mine. I bought it.”

The officer stepped forward.

“That’s enough. Come with us.”

Mandy’s legs went weak, and she almost dropped to her knees.

Just then, the woman suddenly exploded.

“Mandy Taylor! Didn’t you say you were an heiress and only came to tutor my son to get a taste of ordinary life?”

‘Why are the police here looking for you? And they’re saying you stole something?
