He Sent an Intern to Meet His Parents, I Sent Him a Wedding Invitation Chapter 05
Zachary Flynn and I got along surprisingly well.
Our families arranged the wedding quickly, and it landed exactly on my ten-year anniversary with
Brandon.
By the time we got back, Brandon was still traveling.
Before he returned, I had already picked my wedding dress and gone over the wedding car
arrangements with Zachary.
When Brandon came back with Jenny, I was already in my gown, about to head to the venue with family and friends for the ceremony the next day.
But I didn’t expect that my departure point would be so close to the Hastings Group building.
When Brandon and Jenny pulled up, they saw me in my wedding dress standing next to the wedding car. My car was blocking the driver’s path.
Brandon got out and saw my white gown. His brow furrowed. “What are you doing?”
“I…”
“I already told you I was going to marry you.” His tone was harsh.
I blinked in confusion.
He laughed coldly. “What, are you that desperate to get married? I’ve only been gone a little while, and you’ve already picked a dress and a car, and rounded up all these friends and family of yours?”
He looked at me like I was insane. “Did you bring them all here to pressure me?”
“Megan.” Jenny got out of the car too. Looking at the whole scene, she frowned. “Megan, Brandon hasn’t even formally proposed to you yet. This is way too much.”
“Who asked you?” Chloe had had enough. “Oh, you’re that useless intern who was always messing up and making Megan clean up after you.”
“How dare you!”
“What about it?” Chloe scowled. “Since when does a mistress get to lecture anyone about
marriage?”
“I’ll tell you something. Even if Megan were marrying Brandon today, that’s between the two of them. You have nothing to do with it.”
“Shut up.” Brandon stepped forward and put himself between Jenny and Chloe.
I stepped forward too and put myself between Chloe and Brandon.
He didn’t pick up on what Chloe had said about Megan marrying him.
He just frowned at me. “Megan, this is only going to push us further apart. Take off the wedding
dress.”
I laughed. “Not a chance, Mr. Hastings. Tomorrow, whether you agree or not, I’m getting married.”
Brandon froze for a second, then gave a bitter smile. “Megan, you’re stubborn. But I don’t back
down under pressure.”
“Jenny.” She looked up in surprise. “Tonight, you and I are sharing a room.”
Chloe’s eyes flashed with anger.
Jenny’s face went red. “Brandon?”
“Why are you acting shy?” Brandon spoke to Jenny, but he was looking at me. “We had separate rooms the whole trip. Now we’re sharing.”
I gripped my bouquet tighter. “Brandon Hastings, so that’s your revenge? Because I want to marry
you?”
“You’re allowed to force my hand, but I’m not allowed to fight back?” He leaned down and
whispered in my ear with a laugh, “If you hadn’t gone this far, I would have proposed to you today.”
He took Jenny’s hand and walked back to the car.
“That makes me so angry! That cheating scumbag!”
Chloe started to chase after them. I grabbed her arm. “Leave them alone. Let’s get to the venue. We
have to wake up early tomorrow.”
Brandon checked into a hotel with Jenny. As he was checking in, he found himself looking back at
the door.
Megan hadn’t followed. He frowned.
jenny tugged at his sleeve. “Brandon, what’s wrong?”
He stared at the empty doorway. “Nothing.”
