My Nanny’s Daughter Pretended To Be Me Chapter 05

My Nanny’s Daughter Pretended To Be Me Chapter 05

The police arrived quickly.

Chelsea sat there, her face pale, completely silent no matter how the officers questioned her.

The classmates were growing more anxious by the second.

Elian stood behind Chelsea, saying, Chelsea, you’re just too kind. Don’t worry about Kinsley’s reputation. She stole thirty thousand dollars from you. She deserves to be locked up. A rotten apple like that can’t stay in class without harming everyone else. Just think of it as doing society a favor. Go on, tell the police.”

The mention of thirty thousand dollars made the officers immediately darken their expressions, and they moved to take both Chelsea and me to the station for further questioning.

I didn’t care. But Chelsea, suddenly crying, screamed, No! She didn’t take my money!”

And with that, she ran off.

The entire room was stunned, their mouths hanging

open.

I pulled out the transaction history of the relative card on my phone, showing that every penny

Chelsea had spent over the past two years was funded by me.

One of the officers asked me, Why did you give her so much money?”

I replied casually, Because she’s the daughter of our family’s maid. I felt sorry for her.”

Elian was dumbfounded.

After the police left, he immediately rushed up to me and said, Kinsley, there has to be something. shady going on. You’re giving her so much money. because she has some kind of leverage over you, right? I’ll get to the bottom of this. Just wait!”

I couldn’t help but mutter, What a freak.”

I thought that would be the end of the confusion.

But after school, Alissa came up to me, holding at thick bill, and said, This is the money Chelsea tried. to spend from your card to treat us at the cafeteria. Since you canceled the relative card, we had to pay for ourselves. Now, you need to pay us back.”

I took the bill from her and noticed at the end, there was a charge for Alissa’s broken phonetwo thousand dollars.

Putting down the bill, I looked up at Alissa, who stood there, demanding payment, and asked, Do I really look like such an easy target?”

Alissa, seeing I wasn’t going to hand over the money, instantly became hostile and shoved the bill back towards me, saying, You’re nothing like Chelsea! You heartless, moneyhungry swindler! When Chelsea had money, she treated everyone, but now that it’s in your hands, you’re so selfish?!”

Looking at her twisted face, I recalled how, in my past life, after I was falsely accused of cheating on the SATs, my father was wrongfully imprisoned. The media had a field day, and my identity was exposed. Everyone in school found out that Chelsea had been treating them with my money for three years.

But no one showed me any gratitude. Instead, they praised Chelsea like she was some kind of Robin Hood, helping the poor.

Seeing that I was silent, Alissa stomped her foot in frustration and yelled, Kinsley! Just tell me, are your going to give the money back or not?!”

No.”

Fine! You’ll regret this!”

*****

Three days passed, and Alissa still hadn’t figured out how to deal with me. She couldn’t get the money from me, so she conspired with the others. to isolate me.

They all looked at me with pure hatred, and for the first time, I truly understood what it meant to be stabbed in the back by those you once helped.

Three days later, I took Chelsea to court. Her tutoring fees were two thousand dollars a month, but in the first year, she had charged up thirty thousand dollars a month. In the second year, she had charged thirty thousand dollars again.

I had been turning a blind eye, but now that I was demanding the money back, she owed me one million dollars.

Chelsea went all out in court, putting on a performance of pleading, crying, screaming, and even pretending to faint….

But it didn’t matter, and I won the case.

That huge debt was spread across every classmate Chelsea had generouslyhelped over the years.

Soon, the school was full of complaints, and no one was giving Chelsea any sympathy. Everyone started blaming her for causing so much harm.

Pretending to be rich with no money? Where am I supposed to get so much money to pay Kinsley back?”

Did you hear? Some people don’t even have to pay. Those who didn’t join Alissa in isolating Kinsley dont owe a penny!”

I wonder if it’s too late to be friends with Kinsley now?”

*****

Of course, it was too late. I’d already gone to the cafeteria and checked with the students. Those who Chelsea had treated with my money were the ones whose bills barely even reached fifteen dollars.

And those classmates who could easily drop a hundred on a single meal in the cafeteria insisted on paying me back down to the last centno exceptions!
