I’m Not His White Rose Anymore Chapter 21

I’m Not His White Rose Anymore Chapter 21

Lorenzo didn’t know how he left the study.

He stood at the top of the stairs, his mind a complete blank.

“Mommy, did I really get rid of that stupid woman? This is great! From now on, you and Daddy can be together!”

“All the things Daddy gave her, I either stole them or broke them. When she got mad, I just cried, and Daddy always took my side.”

“I was the one who cut up that stupid woman’s mother’s picture on purpose! It was her fault for not letting me touch it! It was just a stupid piece of paper, and she treated it like some kind of treasure. Whatever she treasured, I destroyed! It serves her right for clinging to Daddy and not letting go! She’s so mean!”

“Mommy, from now on, you can be with Daddy, right? And I can be the little princess of the Moretti family? I was so scared that woman would have a baby and steal all the attention from me. But now it’s all good, hehe…”

Such vicious, shameless words coming from the innocent voice of a child.

Lorenzo walked down the stairs, step by step, in disbelief. He saw Lina, and he saw Isabella, who was looking at her daughter with approval.

Hearing the footsteps on the stairs, the mother and daughter immediately fell silent.

When Lina saw him, she ran over.

She hugged his leg, crying “Daddy,” and asking to be picked up.

The scene was so familiar.

He looked at her, but he could only think of that other girl.

How broken must her heart have been for her to ask for a divorce with such finality?

And all of it was because of his own protection and indulgence of this mother and daughter.

“Lorenzo, what’s wrong? Lina wants you to hold her!”

Isabella walked over, her voice a mix of a smile and a playful scolding, as if he really were Lina’s father, as if he really should be fulfilling his fatherly duties.

Today, Sofia had told her that Vivian had already filed for divorce.

That woman was gone, and she was never coming back.

Her constant provocations had finally paid off.

But she had to admit, that woman was surprisingly resilient. It had taken her this long to finally give up.

She and Lorenzo were never a good match anyway. The woman had no self-awareness.

From now on, she would be the mistress of the Moretti family. Even if she didn’t work anymore, even without the title of a European-trained doctor, she could still live a very comfortable life.

At this thought, Isabella felt even more confident, her expression even more charming.

Lorenzo looked at Isabella, then down at Lina.

“You two have been trying to force her out all along, haven’t you? Are you satisfied now?”

Isabella’s face turned white.

He had heard them.

She panicked, but she couldn’t show it.

With a single look, Lina immediately started crying.

“Daddy, don’t you want Lina anymore? Waaah…”

Lorenzo suddenly laughed.

A bitter taste filled his mouth.

This was Marco’s only child. How could he bear to see her cry?

“I’m sorry. I’m the one who indulged you, who made you think you could walk all over her…”

Isabella: …

Lina: …

“Lina, you deliberately destroyed Aunt Vivian’s mother’s photograph. You still haven’t apologized to her.”

“Isabella, you called Vivian a bastard with no parents. Shouldn’t you apologize to her for that? And for that slap…”

He would never forget the moment he had grabbed Vivian’s wrist to stop her from hitting them, only for Isabella to seize the opportunity to slap her hard across the face.

In that moment, her eyes held no pain, no resentment, no anger. Only mockery.

Cold, hard mockery.

Lorenzo covered his face, unable to bear the memory.

How heartbroken and disappointed must she have been with him in that moment?

She was right to divorce him. He didn’t deserve her.

Lina stopped crying.

Isabella opened her mouth, but no words came out.

Sofia, who had been secretly watching the drama unfold, was not happy. She rushed out.

“Lorenzo, what is that tone of voice? Who does Vivian think she is? Isabella is a medical expert who studied abroad!”

Lorenzo looked at his mother, a bitter smile on his face. He felt like he understood Vivian’s heartbreak even more now.

“Mom, Vivian missed her chance to go to MIT because she was taking care of you. But you always looked down on her job, always said she was useless…”

It was the first time her own son had ever defied her. Sofia was furious. “So what if she went to MIT? Could she ever compare to Isabella?”

Lorenzo suddenly remembered his dream. In the dream, his mother was paralyzed, and Vivian had tirelessly cared for her for over a decade. But his mother’s last words were that Vivian wasn’t good enough for him, that she should let him go.

Lorenzo suddenly felt that maybe it wasn’t a dream. Maybe it had really happened.

The thought of Vivian’s death made his head spin, and he almost collapsed.

“Lorenzo!”

Sofia and Isabella both rushed to support him.

He pushed them away and resolutely walked out of the Moretti estate.

Just then, a black sedan pulled up to the gate. Two federal agents got out, nodded at him, and walked straight into the house.

“Are you Isabella Ricci? We’re here to investigate your fraudulent resume and business activities. Please come with us…”

Isabella panicked. “I didn’t do it! You’re framing me! Lorenzo, save me! Marco died for you! You promised him you would take care of me…”

Lorenzo turned back and saw his father standing on the landing.

In an instant, he understood everything.
