Dear Don, We Can Never Go Back to 18 Chapter 06

Dear Don, We Can Never Go Back to 18 Chapter 06

A look of stunned realization cracked across Enzo’s face.

I paid no mind to his shocked expression and told the driver to go.

The taxi pulled away and vanished down the road.

Enzo stood rooted to the spot, completely dumbfounded.

That single sentence shattered the elaborate lie he had been so proud of creating.

She had known the truth all along.

If she had known he was never the eighteen-year-old boy she loved, why had she played along and

agreed to the divorce?

Why hadn’t she exposed him right away?

Panic surged through Enzo’s chest as a terrible thought dawned on him. He sprinted to his car, jumped behind the wheel, and raced after the taxi.

The taxi driver drove skillfully, weaving through traffic. Enzo lost sight of the vehicle several times

amid the crowd of cars.

Sweat soaked his palms. He was just about to overtake the taxi when a traffic light turned red. He

slammed on the brakes hard.

By the time the light turned green again, he could only see the taxi’s distant red taillights.

He followed the vehicle all the way to the International Airport.

Enzo threw open his car door and rushed into the main terminal.

Hundreds of travelers filled the large hall. People dragged suitcases, couples hugged goodbye, and airport staff hurried about their work.

Ada was nowhere to be seen.

“Ada!”

“Ada, where are you?!”

He wandered aimlessly through the crowd, shouting her name until his voice grew hoarse.

He ran up to the check-in counter, his face twisted with panic.

“Can you check for a passenger named Ada De Luca? Tell me which flight she’s taking!”

The airport attendant frowned at him.

“Sir, please wait in line for baggage check. We do not have the right to release other passengers’ personal information. Contact the authorities if you need assistance.”

Security escorted him away from the counter.

Enzo fumbled for his phone and dialed Marcus Gallo, his personal right-hand man.

“Run a full check on Ada’s background and passport. Find every flight she booked today. Track where she’s going!”

Minutes later, Marcus called back, his voice trembling with caution.

“Don… there are no flight reservations linked to her ID at all. It’s possible she never booked a flight

“That’s impossible!” Enzo roared. “I watched her walk into this airport with my own eyes!”

“I’ve checked every record thoroughly, Don. There’s nothing there.”

All the strength drained from Enzo’s body. He clutched his phone tightly as a loud ringing filled his ears, his heartbeat thundering in his chest.

Ada was truly gone.

She had vanished from his life completely, and he had no legal way to track her down.

“Do whatever it takes,” he said in a hollow voice. “Monitor her ID and all her bank accounts. Alert me immediately the second there is any activity.”

“Yes, Don.”

Enzo searched relentlessly for an entire month.

Not a single trace of Ada turned up anywhere.

All her belongings inside the De Luca Family Mansion remained untouched, just as they had been

before the divorce.

The only thing she had taken with her was the Guardian Angel medallion.

He was slowly losing his mind.

None of this made sense.

If she had known his lie from the very start, why had she left so quietly, without tears or anger?

Why had she surrendered everything so easily?

Just as he was on the brink of breaking down entirely, his phone rang.

It was Sofia, Ada’s closest friend.

“Enzo. Today is the day Ada’s cremation and urn ceremony takes place. You need to come to the

Western Cemetery.”
