My Best Friend Had a Baby to Inherit Riches, I Exposed Her Chapter 09

My Best Friend Had a Baby to Inherit Riches, I Exposed Her Chapter 09

The months flew by, and my baby bump became impossible to hide.

As the delivery date drew closer, a strange anxiety began to creep into my mind.

Abby hadn’t shown her face in months, but I knew her character too wellshe wasn’t the type to just accept defeat.

To ensure absolute safety, Garrett took a

twomonth leave of absence to stay glued to my

side.

He even checked me into a highsecurity private medical wing a full month before my due date.

A week before the expected date, I spotted a

suspicious figure lurking near the hospital garden.

It was Abby.

She was crouching in the shadows, her eyes.

scanning the security perimeter like a hawk.

Three days before delivery, Abby managed to

corner Garrett in the parking lot, launching into a

frantic, hysterical rant.

Garrett merely brushed past her with a face of

pure ice.

The moment he got back to the room, he filed an

official report.

Within hours, several private security guards were

stationed right outside my suite.

Despite the tight security, my inner panic wouldn’t

fade.

Ever since the doctors originally told me I might

never conceive, a child of my own had been my

ultimate dream.

I had completely given up hope.

To think the universe would not only bless me, but

give me twins.

When the day finally arrived, Garrett paced the hallway outside the delivery room, out of his mind

with worry.

Though it was my first delivery, the process went exceptionally smoothly.

Sweatsoaked and exhausted, I lay on the bed,

staring at the ceiling as the intense pressure

finally subsided.

The nurse carefully brought the newborns over to

my side.

Their little faces were red and wrinkled, but an

instant, profound biological connection flooded

my soul.

These were my children. I had carried them for ten

grueling months.

My blood ran through their veins.

As the orderly wheeled my bed out, the first thing I

saw was Garrett’s frantic face.

Ignoring the babies for a split second, he dropped

to his knees by my bedside, his eyes filled with

absolute adoration and relief.

Before I could speak a word of comfort, a sharp

scream shattered the peace of the room.

Abby had somehow bypassed the multilayered security detail and was sprinting straight toward

the medical bassinets.

Her face was completely distorted, devoid of any

past glamour.

With her long, jagged nails extended, she lunged directly into the incubator zone.

The lead nurse threw her body over the bassinet to

shield the infant.

A sickening sound echoed as Abby’s nails ripped a deep, bloody gash from the nurse’s cheek down to

her throat.

Seeing her first attempt blocked, Abby shoved the

bleeding nurse aside, raising her hand to strike

again.

Garrett delivered a brutal kick, sending Abby flying hard into the glass. The pane shattered instantly,

raining shards across the floor.

The broken glass showered over her, slicing fine lines into her skin as beads of blood began to well

  1. up.

And within seconds, her face was completely

crimson, masked in blood.

Abby raised her trembling hands, touching the

sticky warmth on her face.

The tiny glass splinters had embedded

themselves deep into her flesh.

She let out a bloodcurdling shriek of pure insanity, snatching up a heavy, jagged piece of broken glass from the floor and charging directly at my

bed.

Audrey! You ruined my life! I am going to kill you!”

She screamed, projecting all her failures onto me.

You loose, shameless slut! Flashing yourself around, seducing men!”

I met Garrett first! If it weren’t for you, he would

have loved me!”

Before she could even finish, Garrett jumped in, desperately trying to clear his name.

Honey, it was love at first sight when I saw your

back then. I wanted your contact info, but

someone gave me the wrong number by mistake.”

He looked at me, his eyes filled with a desperate

need to clear his name.

The second I realized it was her, I blocked her

number completely. Who could have guessed you two would end up becoming best friends later

on?”

I looked at the bleeding mess on the floor, the

truth finally clicking. No wonder she had forced

herself into my social circle back then.

The friendship had been a calculated plot from

day one.

Abby spat out blood, her eyes wild.

I don’t care! Audrey was seen going out alone

with another guy after she met you!”

She’s a cheap little whore!”

I rolled my eyes.

Is it possible, Abby, that I was just working on a

lab project with my senior researcher?”

Garrett had zero desire to continue the

conversation, waving his hand for the security

team to drag her out.

Abby dug her fingers into the doorframe,

screaming at the top of her lungs.

Toby is dying! The doctors said he won’t live past

a year! How can you be this heartless to your own flesh and blood?!”

I came here today for an answer!”

No matter what, that child carries our blood!
