My Best Friend Had a Baby to Inherit Riches, I Exposed Her Chapter 05
[The analysis confirms a biological paternal relationship between Toby and Garrett.]
Garrett’s mother snatched the report from Dr. Miller’s hands before he could even blink.
Reading the words, she erupted into manic laughter.
“See that? This is my biological grandson!”
She paraded the report in front of every relative’s face.
Garrett’s father grinned so wide his jaw looked unhinged, rocking the baby violently in his arms.
Garrett’s sister let out a cold grunt, grabbing my wrist to force me toward the door.
“I am driving you to the clinic to get that abortion right now!”
“Wait…”
I fought back with everything I had. This was the child I had prayed three years for.
I would not let them touch it.
The cold, emotionless faces of the Sterling family closed in on me.
Their venomous voices filled my ears.
“She insulted the savior of our lineage. Banish her and terminate the pregnancy.”
I wrenched my body back and forth, twisting my wrists with maximum force to break her grip.
“Her child is not what you think it is!”
Desperate, I sank my teeth deep into Garrett’s sister’s arm. She screamed, releasing me, and I turned to yell at the physician.
“The DNA report! Dr. Miller, look at the bottom line!”
“Don’t waste your breath! That baby is coming out today!”
Abby barked from behind, kicking me hard in the back.
My face slammed against the car window frame, turning my vision into a blurry, painful mess.
Ignoring the agonizing throbbing in my skull, I turned my eyes to my absolute last lifeline.
Dr. Miller caught my gaze, freezing when he saw the sheer, desperate hope in my eyes.
His conscience gave in. He looked down and retrieved the discarded DNA sheet from the floor.
The moment his eyes hit the bottom text, his breath hitched.
“Stop! Everyone stop right now!” he roared, lunging forward.
“Do not touch her baby!”
The engine roared to life, and he threw himself recklessly in front of the car, slamming his palms against the windshield.
“This baby is our last hope! You can’t abort it!”
“Nobody leaves!”
The car screeched to a halt, and Garrett’s father glared out the window with intense annoyance.
“Dr. Miller, you ran the test yourself. What could possibly be wrong?”
“Toby is the sole heir of this family!”
Dr. Miller swallowed hard, his face pale as he thrust the paper forward.
“You need to read this before making any decisions.”
“Hmph! Let’s see what garbage trick you can play!”
Garrett’s father snatched the paper impatiently. The next second, his eyes nearly popped out of his skull.
“You’ve got one foot in the grave, stop overreacting over nothing,” Garrett’s mother grumbled, snatching the paper from him.
She glanced at it dismissively.
Then, her entire body began to shake violently. She looked up at Abby with horror and disbelief.
“Mom, Dad, what kind of riddle are you guys playing? Are we terminating her pregnancy or not?”
Garrett’s sister, confused by their silence, grabbed the paper. The moment she read the fine print, she went rigid.
“No… this is impossible,” she whispered frantically.
Abby, still riding her high, giggled at their reactions.
She confidently snatched the report, her voice dripping with casual arrogance.
“Mr. and Mrs. Sterling, Victoria…you guys are great actors. We’ve run the DNA twice now, haven’t we?”
“I’m a traditional woman. Garrett is the only man I’ve ever been with. The baby is his.”
“Why the long faces? Is there something written on this report that I missed?”
She leisurely looked down, scanning the text from top to bottom.
