I Canceled The Wedding After His Female Bro Ruined Everything Chapter 04
The man standing in front of me no longer looked like the one I remembered.
Everyone thought I married into this arranged merger marriage for money and status.
Even Sebastian didn’t know — I had seen him long before.
I had just finished college overseas and came back.
I went to a bar for drinks with a friend. Some guys tried to hit on us.
They got handsy. My friend slapped one of them.
Suddenly we were surrounded. Then Sebastian appeared out of nowhere.
A few punches and kicks, and the guys were down.
My friend called her boyfriend to come pick us up. While we waited by the door, Sebastian hung back. He didn’t leave until he saw us safely drive off.
Back then, I thought — this guy is gentle. This guy is kind.
I got his name from my friend’s boyfriend.
I asked my brother Marcus about him.
So when my father brought up the arranged merger marriage, I didn’t hesitate. I chose Sebastian.
After we started dating, I realized I wasn’t wrong about him.
He was thoughtful. Gentle. He knew how to take care of someone.
But all those good qualities weren’t just for me.
The way he indulged Katherine went far beyond friendship.
Whenever Katherine was upset — come rain or shine, no matter the hour — he would drop everything to be with her.
Even on special days like Valentine’s Day or the little holidays that mattered to her, he would talk it over with me first. “Katherine doesn’t have a boyfriend,” he’d say. “Let’s bring her along.”
Back then, I thought that once we got married and had our own family, he would slowly drift apart from Katherine.
I was wrong.
I pulled my hand free from Sebastian’s grip.
I walked to the side of the stage and picked up a fresh microphone.
Then I spoke to the crowd below.
“Sebastian, the person you should have married isn’t me. It’s Katherine.”
Under the stunned gazes of everyone in the room, I kept going.
“I hope you two are happy together. And I hope I never have to deal with a cheater again. I’m free.”
