Medal in Hand: A Stand for Justice Chapter 08
The next morning, Isaac had me ride with him in his car, and we headed toward my place. A convoy of dozens of vehicles followed close behind.
Meanwhile, another half a dozen cars had already gathered outside my house.
At the front stood Harold. A thick gold chain gleamed at his neck, and sunglasses masked his eyes. He radiated a presence that warned people not to cross him.
At that moment, he was barking orders as his men tore my house apart. He intended to destroy it completely, leaving me with nowhere to go.
The crash and roar of the demolition drew the neighbors out in anger. But when they saw the thugs at work, everyone fell silent and slipped back inside.
They were ordinary folks who knew better than to challenge men with power, after all.
Once the bulldozer leveled my house, Harold broke into a triumphant grin. He wanted everyone to see exactly what would happen to those who dared stand against him.
But then, to his shock, cars pulled in from all directions, trapping him and his crew in the center.
Just as he was wondering what was happening, Isaac stepped out first. Moses’ comrades followed,
emerging from their cars and closing in.
“Who are you people?” Harold yelled. “You’ve got some nerve to surround me! Do you even know who I
am?” Even though he was boxed in, the smug look on his face didn’t waver.
He continued, “I get it now. You’re the backup that old geezer called in. He’s got more guts than sense. How dare he send people after me? Believe it or not, one phone call is all it takes to end every single one
of you.”
Isaac’s patience snapped. Suddenly, one heavy punch landed squarely on Harold’s face, and a scream
tore from him as three teeth flew loose.
Moses’ comrades jumped in without hesitation. Though most of them had been out of the service for
years, their skills hadn’t diminished. Within seconds, Harold’s men were sprawled on the ground.
As he looked at his battered crew, Harold flew into a rage. “Do you have any idea what happens to people who cross me?”
“No. But you’re welcome to show me,” Isaac replied with a sneer.
Then, he gave him a chance to make a call and summon every ally he could muster.
