My Ex-Fiancé Severed My Finger to Please His Lover Chapter 04

My Ex-Fiancé Severed My Finger to Please His Lover Chapter 04

One week later, the wedding proceeded as scheduled.

Because my daughter had been clinging to me, by the time I arrived at the estate ballroom, the ceremony had already reached the ring exchange.

Marco had been glancing toward the door again and again.

The second his eyes met mine, his brows relaxed visibly.

He lifted the corner of his mouth. When the priest asked whether he was willing to take the bride, he deliberately hesitated for half a second.

But he never got the reaction he wanted from me.

Watching me eat cake as if nothing had happened, his entire face turned cold.

Someone shoved me hard from behind.

I was unprepared and slammed into the beverage table beside me.

The champagne tower, taller than a person, collapsed with a crash. Wine and shattered glass rained down over me.

Blood ran down my forehead.

Through my blurred vision, I thought I saw Marco anxiously take two steps toward me, but Sofia rushed out first.

She grabbed me tightly, crying as if she had been deeply wronged.

“Elena, I kindly invited you to my wedding. How could you ruin it on purpose? I know you hate that Marco only loves me now. You can hit me, curse me, anything, but why destroy my happiness? You just can’t stand seeing me happy, can you?”

Sofia was strong.

Her sharp manicured nails dug into my skin until pain crawled across my scalp.

I instinctively tried to push her away, but she suddenly screamed and fell backward.

The next second, a brutal force shoved me away.

My heel twisted hard under me, and pain made me suck in a breath.

When I looked up, I met Marco’s furious eyes.

“Are you like a leech? I don’t even remember you, and you still keep throwing yourself at me. I’ve never seen a woman so shameless. Apologize to Sofia.”

There were many guests present, most of them here because Salvatore was rumored to appear today.

To please Marco, they began attacking me without restraint.

“Have some self-respect. Marco doesn’t even remember you, and you still cling to him like some desperate stray. That’s pathetic.”

“And ruining someone else’s wedding? You really can’t stand seeing your own sister happy? Vicious. Thank God Marco didn’t marry a curse like you.”

Sofia leaned against Marco’s arms and pointed at my hand in feigned shock.

“Elena, I told you Uncle would be attending today. How dare you still wear that fake ‘Eternal Vow’? Don’t tell me you claim to love Marco, but secretly you’re trying to seduce his uncle.”

The moment she said that, everyone’s eyes landed on my ring.

Someone immediately raised their voice.

“I heard that before, a woman once showed up in front of Salvatore’s wife with a huge belly and claimed she was carrying the Don’s child. After hearing it, Donna only took off the ‘Eternal Vow’ for one day. The next day, that woman was found in an underground trafficking chain in Eastern Europe. A collar around her neck, all four limbs gone.”

At that, Marco’s face darkened at once.

Sofia said hypocritically, “Marco, so many people are watching. Before your uncle discovers this, Elena can’t keep those hands.”

Marco stayed silent for two seconds, then picked up a dinner knife from the table.

I stepped back, but his friends surrounded me.

“Marco, if you dare touch me, Salvatore won’t let you off.”

“Elena, don’t be stubborn at a time like this. You don’t know how ruthless Uncle Salvatore is. If he handles you, it won’t be as simple as losing both hands. Marco only wants your hands because you were once his fiancee.”

Marco closed in on me, and for one moment, reluctance flashed through his eyes.

“I’ll be gentle.”

They forced my hand down.

Despair swept over me.

“Let me go! My husband is Salvatore De Luca!”

Everyone looked at me like I was insane.

Marco crouched in front of me.

“I know you’re only doing this because you love me too much and want my attention. Don’t say crazy things like this again. Even without your hands, I won’t despise you.”

As his words fell, the knife came down.

The ring was cut off along with my ring finger.
