When I Dreamed of the Alpha Again Chapter 08
Tiffany was called to the pack hall to identify the stalker.
The boy turned out to be one of her former admirers-someone who had persistently harassed her
before, even threatening to ruin her completely.
So it really was him.
I finally felt a wave of relief wash over me.
No matter what, the biggest crisis had been resolved.
As long as I could get through the next three months—until Nathan and Tiffany graduated and left the pack-everything would finally be over.
Thinking of this, even my steps out of the pack hall felt lighter.
“Allie.”
Nathan called after me from behind, his voice as cold and steady as always.
“You should go get checked by a pack doctor.”
I instinctively took a step back, putting distance between us, and nodded politely.
“Got it.”
After a long hesitation, Nathan finally asked, “Why did you have someone investigate, Tiffany’s movements?”
I frowned.
“Tiffany only needed one sentence to condemn me. Can’t I at least clear my own name?”
“That’s not what I meant…”
“Nathan,” I cut in sharply, “you went to every length to make me suffer-when you wanted me dead, did you ever stop to think that maybe the real culprit wasn’t the girl you grew up with?”
Nathan’s face turned pale.
“Tiffany probably misunderstood things at the time. She’s already been through enough. Why keep blaming her?”
i let out a cold laugh.
“She’s pitiful-but not innocent. Wasn’t it her who told you about my diary?”
Nathan froze.
He didn’t answer.
That silence was an answer in itself.
I smiled faintly, full of mockery.
“Now there’s no one threatening her anymore. You can rest easy.”
“Allie,” Nathan said suddenly.
“Can I still… be your brother?”
I turned back and looked at him one last time.
“No,” I said quietly. “Right now, you’re no different from those who once bullied me.”
On my way home, Tiffany suddenly appeared and blocked my path,
She looked both panicked and furious.
“Allie, what do you mean?”
“Why were you following me? What are you trying to do?”
“I know you’ve always liked Nathan. Do you think that now that you know my secret, you can use it to blackmail me too?”
The Tiffany I had always known-gentle, composed, excellent in every way-was gone in an
instant.
She looked almost unrecognizable, like someone else entirely.
And suddenly, a thought crossed my
mind.
Maybe her kindness, her perfection… had always been a mask.
With a family like hers, with everything she had endured, how could she possibly have grown up completely untouched?
A memory flashed through my mind Tiffany appearing first when I collapsed on the training, fuld!
I studied her slightly distorted expression and voiced the suspicion forming in my head
“Tiffany… did you approach me back then… just to get closer to Nathan?”
She froze.
A flicker of panic crossed her face instantly,
I gave a self-mocking smile, already knowing the answer.
“I won’t take Nathan from you.”
Then I turned and walked away.
After a few steps, I suddenly paused.
Also?
What she had just said earlier-
“Do you want to use my secret to blackmail me too?”
I forced the thought down.
Maybe… it was just a coincidence.
