He Blocked My Ambulance for Her Baby, So I Gave Him a Stillbirth to Remember Chapter 02
As soon as he finished speaking, Grayson’s phone rang.
A woman’s coquettish voice came through the receiver.
“Grayson, the doctor said I’m already dilated. They want me in the delivery room now.”
“Are you still with that old hag? Right, of course. She’s your lawfully wedded wife, the real Mrs. Whitmore. The baby I’m carrying is just a bastard.”
“Grayson, if you don’t come right now, I’m not giving birth!”
Mr. Whitmore, who was always so calm and self-possessed, changed expression instantly.
His face filled with panic, and even his voice turned humble.
“Baby, what are you saying? I told you, the baby you’re carrying is the only Whitmore heir.”
“Sienna Hart’s membranes have ruptured. She’s writhing on the ground in pain right now. If you don’t believe me, I’ll show you.”
He bent down and shoved the camera into my face.
Only after Vivian saw how wretched I looked did she finally laugh in satisfaction.
Enduring the pain that had seeped deep into my bones, I lifted my eyes to him.
“Why? Why does it have to be her?”
“Grayson, have you forgotten? She was the one who nearly killed you while driving drunk. She was also the one who pushed your mother off a cliff with her own hands, leaving even her remains never found!”
What answered me was a cold, dismissive laugh.
“What happened back then was my own bad luck. As for my mother, there were no cameras on that overlook. Even the police said she might have slipped by accident. How can you blame Vivian for that?”
I collapsed onto the ground and laughed until tears came.
Vivian was my half sister.
She had been spoiled and willful since childhood, and she had tormented me in every way she could.
After the SATs were over, she stayed out all night partying with her friends. Ignoring everyone who tried to stop her, she insisted on driving drunk.
By accident, she hit Grayson, who had just gotten off a night shift.
There was no one around. Vivian left Grayson lying in a pool of blood and drove away without looking back.
Later, she pinned all the blame on me.
I was taken away for questioning. Afraid that Grayson’s family would keep pressing and expose the truth, she used the excuse of apologizing on my behalf to ask Mrs. Whitmore Sr. to meet her at a mountain overlook. Then, while Mrs. Whitmore Sr. was off guard, Vivian pushed her off the cliff.
I was framed and served three years for a crime I did not commit.
After I was released, I learned by chance that Grayson’s legs had been left disabled, and the doctors had said he would spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
I found him and told him the whole truth.
When Grayson was so devastated that he wanted to end his life, I was the one who dropped to one knee in front of his wheelchair and swore I would help him stand again.
I took care of him for two full years and stayed by his side through every physical therapy session.
Barely a hundred pounds myself, I gritted my teeth and became his living crutch.
On the day he finally stood again, Grayson got down on one knee and slid a plain silver ring onto my finger.
Back then, his eyes were filled with nothing but love.
“Sienna, you gave me a second life. Will you give me the chance to take care of you for the rest of your life?”
I believed him.
Even though he was so poor that he could not give me a proper wedding, I married him without hesitation.
He said I bullied Vivian.
But he knew better than anyone that Vivian had once forced me to drink urine and kneel in a cage while barking like a dog.
Those ten years of living worse than death became the nightmare that haunted me for the rest of my life.
After we got married, I woke from nightmares countless times, sobbing as I told him I had dreamed again of the way Vivian abused me back then.
The arms he wrapped around me trembled. With red-rimmed eyes, he promised that he would make something of himself and get justice for me and Mrs. Whitmore Sr.
To crush the Lane family, he threw himself into the business world and worked himself into the powerful Mr. Whitmore everyone knew.
But I never expected that the first thing he would do after achieving success was carry on an affair with Vivian.
When I caught them half-dressed and kissing on my marital bed, I really did almost lose my mind.
I slapped Vivian hard twice, took pictures of her partially exposed breasts, and posted them all over the internet.
Grayson’s eyes were bloodshot as he knelt in front of me and swore that he had been drunk and had mistaken her for me.
He threw her out in front of me and said he would never see her again for the rest of his life.
I never imagined this.
He had sworn over and over that he would get justice for me and Mrs. Whitmore Sr., but in the end, behind my back, he had even gotten Vivian pregnant.
For all my loyalty and devotion, what I got in return was him looking at me without expression and saying he would use my life and my baby’s life as an apology to Vivian.
After biting the inside of my mouth until it was torn and bloody, I spoke in a trembling voice.
“Grayson, why? Why are you doing this to me?”
There was no answer.
He was in such a hurry that he could not even be bothered to look at me before walking away without hesitation.
