He Blocked My Ambulance for Her Baby, So I Gave Him a Stillbirth to Remember Chapter 01
On the way to the airport for a vacation, my membranes ruptured.
The pain in my abdomen was unbearable. My voice was hoarse as I begged the people passing by for help.
Someone hailed a cab for me and was just about to help me inside when my husband rushed over and stopped them.
“My wife has a history of running injury scams. The last person who helped her had to pay her seventy-five thousand dollars!”
The passerby recoiled in fear, and even the cabdriver refused to take me.
I no longer had the strength to explain. With trembling hands, I called 911 myself.
But when the ambulance arrived, Grayson Whitmore gave a cold laugh and spoke first.
“My wife has late-pregnancy incontinence. Every time it happens, she convinces herself her membranes have ruptured.”
“She has serious mental issues. No matter what the test results say, she’ll insist the hospital is trying to scam her.”
“If you take her to the hospital, she won’t pay a cent of the medical bill, and she’ll call the police and sue you on top of it.”
The paramedics left, muttering curses under their breath.
I was drowning in despair, but Grayson looked at me with perfect calm.
“Your sister is pregnant. The baby is mine.”
“Her due date is today. I promised her that her baby would be born first.”
“Just hold on a little longer. Once she gives birth, I’ll arrange your surgery right away.”
When he saw the tears gathering in my eyes, he patted my face as if he were comforting me.
“If you want to blame someone, blame yourself. Back then, all I did was kiss her when I was drunk, but you made sure everyone found out.”
“She married the first man she could find just to spite you. Who could have known she would end up with an abusive husband who beat her until she miscarried?”
“You owe her a life. Making you delay delivery for a while is just helping you atone.”
I looked into his indifferent eyes, and a miserable smile tugged at my lips.
Grayson, since you say I’m guilty, I wonder if paying with both my life and my baby’s will be enough.

Another wave of agony tore through my lower abdomen. I dropped to my knees and could not stop myself from crying out.
Grayson lowered his gaze to me. There was a flicker of pity in his eyes, even a trace of tenderness, but not a hint of guilt.
The crowd around us had already scattered. Helpless, I looked up at him, my voice trembling.
“Grayson, please. Take me to the hospital first!”
In my agony, I desperately clutched his pant leg with bloodstained fingers.
Grayson kicked my hand away and stepped back in disgust.
“I promised Vivian I would be there with her personally when she gives birth. We have a professional videography team there to document everything. If my pants get dirty, she’ll be upset.”
Blood was everywhere between my legs, and amniotic fluid was pooling on the ground beneath me.
Grayson refused to see any of it.
All he cared about was whether he looked presentable enough when he accompanied Vivian Lane through childbirth.
He did not care about me, and he did not care about the unborn baby I was carrying.
Then what did the ten years I spent building a life with him from nothing and weathering every hardship by his side even mean?
I was trembling all over and wanted to demand an answer, but the contractions were so agonizing that I could only writhe on the ground.
Grayson glanced at his watch, and a smile curved his lips.
“Vivian should be giving birth any minute now. Go home for now. Once I’m done, I’ll come get you.”
The pain was so intense that my mind was starting to fade. All I could do was bite into the soft flesh of my tongue and beg him in a shaking voice.
“Grayson, my membranes have ruptured. If I don’t go to the hospital now, the baby will die!”
He bent down and stroked my head with pity.
The gesture was so careless that it felt like he was petting a stray dog.
“Don’t worry. I won’t abandon you. After all, you’re the real Mrs. Whitmore, and you’re the woman I love most.”
“But debts have to be paid. This is your way of making amends. Pain is the only way you’ll learn, and once you do, you won’t use your status to bully a young woman again.”
“I’ve already told the private physician to wait for you at the estate. You and the baby will be fine. At most, you’ll just be in pain for a while.”
“Sienna, stop being so dramatic. Vivian is giving birth too, but she isn’t screaming or making a scene. She’s waiting quietly for me at the hospital. In that sense, she knows how to behave far better than you do.”
