My Mafia Husband Married His Mistress Chapter 04
Five faces I would recognize for the rest of my life.Â
They grinned at me with stained yellow teeth.Â
“Sienna Hartley, you caused us a lot of trouble,” one of them said, cracking his knuckles. “Ten years ago, we almost broke you in before your little hero boyfriend showed up.”Â
“So what now? He got tired of you?”Â
He laughed.Â
“Perfect. We can finally finish what we started.”Â
I struggled violently against the handcuffs.Â
“Get out! You wanna go back to prison?”Â
A brutal backhand slammed across my face.Â
My head snapped sideways. Blood filled my mouth, and one of my teeth loosened instantly.Â
“Keep dreaming,” the man sneered. “Nobody’sÂ
coming to save you this time.”Â
Another one smirked coldly.Â
“Your Don’s busy taking care of his pregnant wife. Right now, you belong to us.”Â
None of them noticed the livestream phone hadÂ
fallen into the corner of the room.Â
I stretched my neck toward the camera andÂ
screamed for help.Â
One of the men stepped directly in front of it,Â
blocking the lens completely.Â
I closed my eyes in despair.Â
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the hospital.Â
Roman sat beside Elara’s bed, absentmindedlyÂ
feeding her lobster bisque.Â
“Ow! That’s hot, Roman!”Â
Elara pouted and shoved the spoon away.Â
“You didn’t even blow on it first.”Â
Her manicured fingers dug into his cheek, forcingÂ
him to look at her.Â
“You’re thinking about her again, aren’t you?”Â
Roman didn’t answer.Â
He handed the bowl to a nurse and stood up.Â
“I’m leaving.”Â
Elara’s eyes widened instantly.Â
Ignoring the IV still attached to her arm, shelÂ
scrambled out of bed and threw herself at him.Â
“Where are you going? Your child needs you here!”Â
Roman loosened his tie roughly, all the irritationÂ
inside him finally snapping loose.Â
“I need to check on Sienna. She’s not answeringÂ
her phone. I’m worried she’ll do something stupid.”Â
Elara immediately clutched her stomach andÂ
collapsed back onto the bed screaming.Â
“Ah! My stomach hurts! Roman, the baby!”Â
Roman froze.Â
He looked at Elara, then toward the door.Â
After a long, frustrated sigh, he sat back down.Â
He pulled out his phone and texted his consigliere.Â
Go buy jewelry and designer bags. Deliver them toÂ
my place personally. Make sure Sienna gets them.Â
Don’t let her do anything reckless.Â
Elara watched him type.Â
Behind her fake expression of pain, a smug smileÂ
flickered across her face.Â
While Roman accompanied Elara for herÂ
ultrasound scan, his phone rang.Â
It was the consigliere.Â
“Don, Sienna’s not at the penthouse.”Â
Roman frowned immediately.Â
“What do you mean? Elara, didn’t you bring her theÂ
spare key earlier?”Â
Elara’s face went pale.Â
“I… I did. I even unlocked the doors for her. SheÂ
was fine when I left.”Â
Roman narrowed his eyes slowly.Â
“You didn’t leave her alone in that hospital room,Â
did you?”Â
Elara opened her mouth, stumbling over herÂ
words.Â
“Why would I do that? I unlocked her handcuffs.Â
She almost attacked me afterward!”Â
Roman turned toward the door immediately.Â
“Roman, wait!”Â
Elara threw herself in front of him, blocking theÂ
exit.Â
Roman shoved her aside violently and stormed down the hallway.Â
The second he disappeared, Elara grabbed herÂ
phone with shaking hands and dialed the fiveÂ
thugs.Â
“Take her away. Right now!”Â
“Sienna!”Â
Roman slammed open the door to the isolatedÂ
hospital room.Â
The sharp smell of bleach hit him instantly.Â
The room was empty.Â
Then his eyes landed on the corner.Â
A smartphone lay sideways on the floor, theÂ
screen still glowing.Â
“What the hell is this?”
