My Mafia Husband Married His Mistress Chapter 01
After catching my mafia husband cheating, I locked him.
If he needed to pee, he had to rush home and wait for me to unlock it. One time, he held it too long at the office and passed out cold. They rushed him to the ER, but even then, he refused treatment until I got there to unlock him because he was terrified I’d start overthinking again.
But that Saturday, his GPS tracker showed him at a luxury hot springs resort in the next state over.
I drove there like a madwoman.
The second I saw the broken lock on the floor, I grabbed a kitchen knife.
“Roman Cade! You filthy cheater! Do I seriously have to castrate you before you stop cheating?”
“Where’s she? Let me see who’s so desperate!”
Roman grabbed my wrist with one hand and clamped the other over my mouth. “Shut up!”
I bit down hard, the metallic taste filling my mouth. “Let go of me, you jerk!”
His eyes flashed red with rage.
“Sienna Hartley! When is this psycho act finally gonna end?”
“This was just a corporate retreat! How long are you gonna keep tormenting me?”
“I never once held it against you that your father sold you off to five loan sharks! I made one stupid mistake with an intern! What gives you the right to treat me like this?”
I froze.
The knife slipped from my numb fingers and hit my foot with a sharp clatter.
My skin split open, but I felt nothing.
Staring at Roman’s twisted face, I suddenly realized something.
Whatever tied us together was finally gone.
“Oh my God, Sienna…” Roman ripped the hem off his shirt and reached for my wound. “Sienna. I didn’t mean it… does it hurt? Let’s go to the hospital.”
I stepped back immediately.
“Don’t touch me.”
I pulled the key from my wallet and threw it at his feet.
Then, right in front of him, I deleted the tracking app from my phone.
“Roman Cade, I’m done caring about you.”
Then I turned and ran.
The screaming wind dragged me straight back to the darkest moment of my life.
I was eighteen when my family lost everything. My father blindfolded me and told me he had a birthday surprise for me.
When I opened my eyes, I was trapped inside a motel room surrounded by five Alpha.
Right before they could hurt me, a younger Roman burst in with the police.
He spent every coins he had buying back the explicit photos they’d taken that night, then destroyed them all.
He held me while I broke apart in his arms and swore he’d heal me.
On our wedding night, I reached for his belt to prove I loved him.
I was shaking so hard from fear I could barely breathe.
Roman stopped me and cupped my face gently.
“Sienna, if you don’t want this right now, we won’t do it. I want you because we love each other, not because you owe me anything.”
I cried myself to sleep that night.
I really thought he’d wait for me forever.
That fantasy shattered on our first anniversary.
I baked him a cake and walked into his private office only to find him bent over his desk, slamming into a secretary beneath him.
Our framed wedding photo sat right there on the desk.
The girl’s hand covered my face in the picture like she was trying to erase me from his life.
I screamed and smashed everything in sight.
I wanted to kill him.
Roman let me claw and hit him while he desperately explained that the girl was an escort sent by his enemies, that he’d been set up, that it was all a trap.
He begged me for another chance.
And because of everything he’d done for me, I swallowed my pride and forgave him.
Who could’ve guessed Roman had always thought I was tainted?
My phone ringing snapped me back to reality.
Roman had already sent me dozens of texts.
I yanked the SIM card out of my phone and drove straight to the nearest law firm.
“I need divorce filing papers.”
Five minutes later, the lawyer frowned at the screen.
“Ms. Hartley… according to the system, you’re legally unmarried.”
“Unmarried? That’s impossible. Search this name.”
I blurted out Roman’s full name.
The lawyer hit Enter.
Roman’s name appeared under “Married.”
But the spouse listed beside him wasn’t me.
It was the secretary he claimed he fired years ago.
Elara Vance.
