99 Times He Left Me Mid-Moon for a Fake Omega – The 100th? I Marked His Rival Alpha Chapter 20

Three days later, Quinn had “accidentally” set the kitchen on fire while cooking.

Not a little fire. A fire fire.

Guards were shouting, scrambling for water, running in every direction.

I didn’t waste a second.

I kept low, slipping through the shadows until I reached Warren’s office. The window was cracked open just enough for me to hear voices inside

Warren was on the phone. Speaker mode.

“Gotta hand it to your sister.” Warren said, chuckling. “Still breathing after everything I’ve thrown at her.”

Your sister.

My blood went cold.

A laugh came through the line. Cold. Amused.

“Die? No. She won’t die that easily. My parents are still devastated over their missing little girl. I need them exactly where they are-weak, distracted. mourning. Before I fully take control of Whiteshadow Pack, then she can die.”

“Keep her on a short leash,” the voice continued. “She’s smart. Don’t let her get comfortable. And keep sending me pictures. I like watching her

squirm.”

I knew that voice.

I knew it.

Ronan.

No..

No, no, no-

My hands started shaking. My vision blurred. I stumbled backward and knocked a flowerpot off the windowsill.

It shattered.

Iran.

I didn’t think. Didn’t plan. Just ran.

“Stop her! Don’t let her get away!”

Footsteps thundered behind me.

Quinn was waiting at the edge of the forest. She grabbed my arm and yanked me forward.

“Move! Once we’re over that ridge, we’re clear!”

But we weren’t fast enough.

The gunshot cracked through the air.

Pain exploded in my left thigh. I hit the ground hard, tasting dirt and blood, but I forced myself back up and kept running

Warren was right behind us, gun raised, grinning like this was the best night of his life.

He fired again.

The silver bullet grazed my ear. Hot, tearing pain ripped through the side of my head, but I didn’t stop.

He was playing with me.

The third shot hit my right leg.

I went down. This time, I couldn’t get up.

Warren walked over, slow and casual, and pressed the barrel of his gun against my forehead.

“Go on,” he said softly. “Get up. Keep running, princess.”

He stomped on my wounded leg.

The scream tore out of me before I could stop it.

White-hot agony blinded me, but I forced my eyes open and stared straight at him.

He laughed.

“You heard that call, didn’t you?”

I didn’t answer.

He crouched down, tilting his head. “Wanna know who that was?”

Ronan’s voice echoed in my head, and my face must have given me away.

Warren’s grin stretched wider. “Yeah. That’s right. Your beloved big brother. Ronan fucking Ashford.”

“You’re lying.”

“Am I?”

“My brother would never-he loves me. I’m the most important person in his life. You’re lying. This is just another game to break me.”

“Oh, sweetheart.” Warren pulled out his phone, scrolled through his messages, and shoved the screen in my face. “He paid me half a million to ‘take care of you.’ Here’s the receipt. Wanna see?”

The transaction was right there. Date. Amount. Sender: R. Ashford.

Everything inside me shattered.

Ronan.

Ronan did this.

The brother who used to carry me on his back when I was tired. Who taught me how to shift. Who promised he’d always protect me.

He sold me.

And I didn’t understand why.

The whispers came back. Things I’d heard in the pack and ignored. Ronan’s wolf is too thin. Too weak. He’ll never be Alpha Victor should it Thaka to take over as Alpha instead.

But I’d told him-told him-I didn’t want it.

I’d rather travel, see the world, do literally anything except sit in an Alpha’s throne.

And more than that… I knew my wolf was different.

I could never be the next Alpha of Whiteshadow Pack.

So why did he hate me enough to do this?

What did I ever do to him?
