My Mafia Husband Had Nine Mistresses, Then Said He Loved Me Chapter 09
After leaving the hospital, Federico went straight back to the villa.
Silvia threw herself into his arms, tears filling her eyes.
“Don Federico, you have to give me an explanation for today. Otherwise, how am I supposed to face my
friends again?”
Federico pushed her away, his eyes carrying a half-smiling chill.
“What kind of explanation do you want?”
Silvia pouted, sounding wronged. “Of course she should apologize to my friends in public. My friends also said she has to kneel and bow ninety-nine times.”
Smack.
Before she finished speaking, a heavy slap sent her flying.
Federico’s face was ice-cold. He stepped on the back of Silvia’s hand.
“What the hell are you? You think you deserve to make my wife apologize to your friends?”
The hard leather shoe ground against her soft hand with enough force to nearly crush the bones.
Silvia broke into cold sweat from the pain. Her eyes were shocked, terrified, and disbelieving.
“Don Federico… how can you treat me like this? You clearly said you loved me!”
Federico withdrew his foot, a cold smile on his lips.
“Love me? Do you love me, or do you love the Cesarini family’s wealth and power? You know the answer.”
Silvía sat up miserably, clutching her hand. Guilt flashed through her eyes.
Coldness passed through Federico’s gaze. He ordered his men to throw Silvia out, then ignored her screams
and went upstairs.
When he sat exhausted in the chair inside his study and saw the framed photo of him and Ludovica on the
desk, he fell into a daze.
It was from his and Ludovica’s first wedding anniversary.
He had reserved an entire restaurant and filled it with Ludovica’s favorite roses.
When the blindfold was removed, Ludovica cried from surprise and stood on tiptoe to kiss his cheek.
The photo had been snapped by a waiter on his phone and later given to them as a gift.
Back then, the way Ludovica looked at him was still full of love and dependence.
But when had her gaze become numb and calm, with no trace of that old love?
It seemed to be after he cheated for the first time.
But he had already explained to her that he only wanted a fresh taste occasionally and the woman he loved
most was still her.
Why was she still so unreasonable?
An inexplicable irritation rose in Federico’s chest.
He took out his phone and ordered his assistant, “Buy a bouquet of roses and send them to the hospital.
Also reserve a restaurant for next week. I’ll take my wife there.”
The assistant respectfully said yes.
Seeing that Federico still had not hung up, the assistant asked cautiously, “Don Federico, anything else?”
Federico turned to look out the window and hesitated for a moment.
“Check the club surveillance too. I want to know what really happened yesterday.”
But he did not expect the police to arrive before the investigation report did.
Federico had just ended the call when the butler knocked and came in, saying the police were looking for
him.
Federico frowned, then went downstairs.
The police explained why they had come.
“Mr. Cesarini, we received a report. Yesterday afternoon, there was an attempted sexual assault in a private room on the third floor of the club. We need Mrs. Cesarini to come to the station and assist with the
investigation.”
Federico laughed from anger.
“Did Ludovica send you? Has she not made enough trouble?”
He truly did not understand.
She had always been obedient and sensible. Why was she refusing to let this go?
Had he not treated her well enough?
He gave her the glory of being Mrs. Cesarini, with a black card that never had a spending limit.
As long as she said she disliked someone, no matter how much he liked the mistress, he would abandon
that woman without hesitation.
What else could she possibly be dissatisfied with?
One police officer frowned. “Mr. Cesarini, have you misunderstood something? Mrs. Cesarini didn’t call the
police A club server did.”
Federico’s expression darkened sharply.
“A server? What exactly happened? My wife is in the hospital right now. It’s inconvenient for her to go to the
station.”
“Then please come with us instead.”
The night wind was cool.
Federico rode in the police car all the way to the nearby police station.
A server sat in the lobby. When he saw Federico, he handed over a video.
“Mr. Cesarini, Mrs. Cesarini is a good person. She once helped me when a customer made trouble for me. I
hesitated for a long time, but I still decided to tell you the truth.”
There were two videos, both shot from hidden angles.
The first showed Silvia arrogantly instructing those “friends” of hers.
[I’ll take Federico away in a bit. You follow the plan. Understand?]
[But Silvia, Ludovica is Don Federico’s wife. If Ludovica complains afterward, will Don Federico let us off?]
Federico recognized the man who questioned Silvia.
He was the same man who had claimed yesterday that Ludovica hit him.
In the footage, Silvia cursed furiously.
[I’ll take responsibility for you. What are you afraid of? Besides, once something like that happens, what
woman would dare say a word? And right now Don Federico’s heart is with me. He won’t have time to care
about Ludovica.]
Federico’s face turned icy.
His fingers holding the phone trembled uncontrollably.
Without stopping, he opened the second video.
After watching everything, all color drained from his face.
It was as if someone had punched him straight in the face.
His mind went blank.
